I bought this bike for $3,200 brand new. We've been from Canada to Key West and from New York to Pikes Peak. A professional mechanic when I bought it, I wanted a bike that if I just kept the fluids changed, did the occasional spark plug replacement, put in a new battery every few years and kept up the tires and brakes that I could ride for this many years and never have to do anything else. Well it's 2016... and I've also had to replace a couple of rear turn signals and a flasher and besides the above, nothing else. What a Bike. I never dreamed when I bought it that it would perform and last so long. With around 50K on it right now, I'd trust it on a coast to coast ride in a heartbeat. It's no wonder this bike still has such a large following. And I see that used, this bike is still being sold around $2,500. Hard to believe that if I sold it today... that 30 years of dependable transportation on a 2 wheeled vehicle that handles and ride as well as it does would have only cost $500.

This bike is absolutely amazing. Can you believe the mileage?! It still doesn't burn oil and gets 45 mpg average. I don't know the complete history of the bike. This bike is absolutely amazing. Can you believe the mileage?! It still doesn't burn oil and gets 45 mpg average. I don't know the complete history of the bike. The dealer I purchased it from claims it was a one owner bike. (Yeah, right, with this mileage?) I never pursued the history because the bike has been nearly flawless. I average about 5000 miles per year and find the bike a blast to ride.
I could use a more comfortable seat and a rear shock upgrade for comfort, but, I probably won't trade this machine for anything soon. They just don't make anything that appeals to me more than this bike. I've had a love affair with the Honda CB750 since 1969.

I bought a 1983 Honda CB1000C when it was first offered. My wife and I toured on it with a tank bag. It is strong and relatively quiet and I like the traditional styling. I traded it for the V-four Magna and other bikes after that. I didn't ride for many years. About three years ago I started...

About three years ago I started to miss riding and after searching found a cherry 1000 exactly like the one I had only this one had 12,000 miles on it.

One of the greatest rides ANYWHERE. Power, agility, like a lithe cat on the prowl, 89hp and over 10K rpm redline. This bike is a screamer or a docile pussy cat, it can cruise at 90 or at 30. Not may motorcycles do what this big bike can, and there are not any new ones that compare. With the...

Not may motorcycles do what this big bike can, and there are not any new ones that compare. With the Hondaline fairing and a radio, a crusier. With just a windscreen, a screamer. I have seen 140 mph and lots left in the bike.

My CB750 is the Nighthawk version.I went 200mi.to buy it because it was the only bike I could afford that had good body lines,& I was told to stick with inline 4's for long longevity.I love the pull from 6,000 to 9,000.I put lower, dirt bike style bars on it to stretch out my 54yr.old back. The sit...

It had 10,300,now has 12,800 miles & does use a Qt.every 500 mi.I'll gladly add that for the fun, that inline 4 gave me howling out of those 35MPH curves in the Black Hills. That big TOPHEAVY,Tire Sliding BEAST, was a RIOT in those beautiful canyons.Trailering to Arkansas in several weeks for my final fling with my curvatious gal. !!

This review is actually for the 1981 Honda CX500C, I just couldn't figure out how to write a review on a bike not listed. I started riding 1-1/2 years ago on the CX500 that I bought for $600. For its age and 40,000+ miles, it has held up extremely well. I try to take care of it and it has done great for me. I drove round trip on the CX from Raleigh to the outer banks of North Carolina and back in one day - approx 16 hrs riding time this summer w/ dad following on his v-star. The bike didn't hesitate to go the distance. I have a custom seat, National Cycle windscreen, and a K&N air filter and no other add-ons, the rest is stock. I've accidentally over-revved the engine well beyond redline twice now, but still it runs like a train. I haven't ridden a lot of other bikes, but I seriously doubt many can work so reliably as the Honda has. It's no powerhouse, but it gets around no problem. Although I will be upgrading to a Bandit 600s in the near future I'll never forget or regret owning a CX500C.

Sold it in 1994 with 68000 miles on it... due to temp financial problems.. Was fantastic bike then.. with major regrets in selling it.. And then.. Bought it back 4 weeks ago.. was as if in a time capsule.. only 4K miles added.. must have been in storage.. drained old fuel replaced all fluids replaced battery.. Still working on rebuilding a rear brake caliper.. and then back on the road.. Makes excellent power.. big enough for serious touring.. and handles fantastic.. S
