Great road trip bike. We have traveled extensively in the US and Canada prior to the Covid pandemic. Our trips were on a 2012 Goldwing and a 2009 Goldwing. Comfort and reliability were our favorite attributes of the Goldwing bikes. We have owned Goldwings since 2002 and have been blessed with perfect trips on each of our long road trips. Our average trip was 3000 miles and we never had a breakdown. We cannot say that for our friends that were on different brands of bikes. For comfort and reliability we definitely recommend all Goldwing 1800's.

I have finally found my last bike that I'll ever own. It's handling, maneuverability and ride are fantastic. I love the quietness of the exhaust and smoothness of the transmission. It's the first bike with a shaft, fuel injection, ABS and CBS, it has everything! And if I need to carry something, I'll backpack it. I'm a solo rider so two-up weight is "Not" a factor. Since I bought the bike last year, my initial cost was about half of the original price, so I definitely got a "Good" deal.

I bought a 2009 new off the floor in 2012. I have to admit it's one of the best bikes I have ever ridden. This bike is very reliable, decent on gas, plenty of power and by far the best dual sport for off road. Another upside is that the design hasn't changed since 1993 so there are plenty of aftermarket parts and you know this engine is dependable. Now the down side is from the factory. It doesn't quite run right. don't let that put you off because with a few mods it runs great. It just needs to be rejetted and add a new exhaust. But that's just what I have done and what has worked for me. Other people might find they like it stock.

I bought this as a general purpose bike to go on and off road riding because of how I liked a friends dirt only 230F model. I do 99% on road riding now because my friend now rides a sport bike and it is not too safe to go off roading alone. This thing is very practical for me. I can commute, visit relatives across town, go grocery shopping. I just load up an over-the-shoulder bag and have the weight rest on the seat behnind me, cruise the neighborhood in the evening after the traffic dies down, and go on group rides so long as they keep the speed to legal limits. This bike will do 70 mph. but headwinds and hills burden its 14 horsepower. I just downshift to 5th gear and it will still rev to 65 and still get 73 to 96 mpg. I mostly average 84 around town. I fill up at about 130 miles before having to switch to reserve. With reserve it will travel about 180. The front tire lasted about 8,000 and rear held up until 10,000 miles. I replaced them with OEM Bridgestones through the dealer because they were the cheapest. The brake pads last about 4,000 miles, which is the same for checking the valves. The super stiff seat and the top speed limitation are my only complaints.
