And test drove numerous ones and road couple of my buddies throughout the years. But not one of them out of couple dozen I've rode in my life. Compare to my 2003 Honda VTX 1800s. It handles great it rides smooth and a Powers just amazing. It demands respect. I love my bike I get compliments on it everywhere I go if I'm on my bike I pull in somewhere not once did I not get a compliment on it. If you get a chance to test drive a 2003 Honda VTX 1800s do not pass it down. I promise you it will not be a waste of time. Go jump on one and I guarantee you won't want to give her back. Safe travels y'all

20 years ago I would not be “caught “dead” on any scooter. However, with the passage of time, my body has developed mobility issues (if you can’t raise your leg, you can’t run with the big dogs).
Therefore, I find myself in the position of either a scooter or nothing. I chose a scooter.
After checking out a 650cc, two different 400 cc and a 600 cc scooter, I decided the most appropriate scooter for me was a Honda SilverWing 600 cc (actually 582 cc) so I purchased the nicest one I could find.
My son and I put over 300 miles on this highway capable machine and I am very happy with my purchase.
If you are considering any scooter of any size, I suggest checking out the Honda SilverWing last and determine which machine best suits yourself!

I have an '03 Honda VFR800 Interceptor. I have owned it for fifteen years and I love this bike. I had a '84 V-65 Magna for about 10 years, a super bike to go riding with my guys around So. Cal. I went to a dealership to look at bikes and the salesman just happened to be the owners son who directed me toward the VFR, to give me the sport ride but not the crouch rocket bundle. It has the dependable 800 cc engine solid construction and awesome styling from Honda. I took it for a couple of test rides and that sold me. Solid, dependable, durable bike that is between a slightly faster 1000cc crouch rocket and a cruiser. Try one!

When Honda came out with the VTX I wanted one. It took a few years, but during the summer of 2004, they had too many left over 2003's and they had what they called a "Fire Sale". At the time, I lived in Indianapolis, and I drove to Illinois to pick-up a brand new 2003 VTX 1800. With .2 miles, I pulled the bike out of the dealership garage into the rain. After a few other stops that were a mini-vacation, I got the bike home with nearly 500 miles on it.
This was the first brand new bike I had ever purchased, and I vowed to ride it to six digits. I have to say those 100,000 miles came with only regular maintenance. No major issues ever. I took my VTX as far west as Carlsbad, NM, north to Lake Superior, south to the Rio Grande, and along the east coast.
Besides never letting me down, the bike is always a joy to ride. Powerful and nimble. It is as comfortable on the highway as it is on the backroads twisting and weaving. I wore down one set of floorboard back to foot pegs to prove the handling and fun factor.
One of the best features is the linked braking. The back brake also works the center cylinder in front brakes, this brings the bike down in corners and to stop in a level fashion that gives you good grip with the front wheel. You can trail brake much better. It makes you a better rider.
After 18 years and 110,000 trouble free miles I finally moved on to another ride. Time for someone else to enjoy the VTX and all it has to offer, and it still has lots of life to give.

For anyone looking for the best all around cheap street bike, look no further. 31,282 miles on the clock and I've never touched the motor or even the carbs.
Pros: Dead reliable, excellent engine and transmission, Good torquey power, quality made, easy to maneuver around town for a rather heavy bike, confident solid handling (lives high speed sweepers), comfortable riding position, nice exhaust note, naked retro looks, easy to work on, cheap to buy and maintain.
Cons: Brakes are reliable and don't fade, but stopping power is all in front. Rear drum feels slightly wooden, and locks up easy, could use a 6th gear for better freeway cruising, not even a gas gauge on mine but no biggie..one less thing to break...I use the odometer (get about 140 miles on a tank but I weigh 235 and 6'2" frame), She's a bit cold blooded on cool mornings at start up... Choke it to 2000 rpm for a couple minutes or she'll stumble.
Overall a satisfying personality with juicy power and yet no racer pretensions. It's not as quick and fast as many bikes, but considering it's age, it keeps up surprisingly well and does everything you ask it to.

I messed up and sold the first one I had, but I bought another one and I'll keep it. The Suzuki R1092 doesn't even come close as far as reliability and comfort. Love my VTX, and you will to if you can handle the power. This bike will get you where you want to go, and get you there quicker than you can imagine.
