I only wish that it was new, instead of 21 yrs old!! But it does have low miles, and is in reasonable shape. The performance is great, pulls good from 2ooo rpm in every gear, all 10 of them!! Back in the 80's I thought it was nice, but did not buy one. Back then I thought 10 gears why?? Now that I have one, I love the dual range!! It will lug, and it will scream! Cruises nicely up to 75, but lacks stability, and handling after that. Honda made a mistake with the hi- low range shift pedal. If you ride one, be sure to tuck in your shoe laces!! They will hang up on the lever, and is hazardous when you stop! Overall a good, but heavy bike.

I've had my 900 for 5 years now. It is completely stock, but I will be going to four-into-two exhaust. It had 12,000 miles on it when I bought it. Now it has 48,000. Has never been in the shop, just add gas and change the oil. Dual range tranny still works great. Ride it year round here in Ga. Very... read more

This was the first brand new bike I bought. What I wanted was a good single-cylinder bike akin to the British 250's that I remember as a lad. This bike was everything I wanted: reliable, smooth, nippy and with a good spec and finish. The engine has a counter rotating balance weight, which irons out the vibrations. There is an automatic valve decompressor, which makes starting nice and easy, although later models did have electric start. The bike is capable of a good turn of speed, and is very stable in tight cornering. Reliability is the bye word, and the only regular maintenance is chain tensioning. The brakes excel in their ability to bring you to a halt, and the alloy rims are light and easy to clean. Overall, the best Japanese bike I have ever owned, and regret selling.

Sure, compared to today's bikes, the styling is old school, but how many of today's cruisers put out 80 horsepower? I bought mine two years ago for $900, and have added a Mac 4-1 exhaust, K&N filter, Accel coils and plug wires, plus assorted dress up goodies. The bike rips, but the duel range... read more

The bike rips, but the duel range tranny is locked in one range, low I think. Yeah, I've got a 00Shadow Sabre, but when I want to go fast, I take the CB!
