I have owned my Thunderbird for 7 years and have had no problems with it. I have ridden many different motorcycles over the years and I like the Thunderbird the best of any I have ridden. My wife also likes the ride as a passenger. This bike sets you apart from the me to bikers. Show less

I bought this brand new in 2012 with in six months noticed an oil smell there was a hole in the block . They replaced the block the next year battery would not charge had to replace the rectifier . Then again the next year just frustrating I didn't ride it for a while 2 years later not charging again noticed oil on the top of the rectifier (can't sell a broken bike ) the person who repaired the bike ( the block replacement) pinched the wire from the stator in the block now oil travels along the line into the rectifier shorting it out the connections rotted out.ive had the bike 9 years only have 6000 kms on it most the first year (the dealer I bought it from went out of business) love the looks rides real nice just a lemon and getting expensive Show less

The Commander is a beautiful bike. Very comfortable to ride, great on the open road. Standard with floor boards. It’s not bulky or too heavy and it handles nicely. I kept mine stock and it sounds great, didn’t see the need to change the pipes, so it’s not obnoxiously loud. They are no longer in production. Show less

I have ridden and raced motorcycles since I was 17 years old and have owned three street bikes. Yamaha FJR 1300, Suzuki M109R2, and my Current motorcycle the Triumph Thunderbird Commander. Each bike had qualities that I like. But for an overall bike, the Triumph Thunderbird commander is a head above the rest. The quality and finish of the motorcycle is outstanding. The paint has real painted pinstriping done by hand. Oh the belt drive is very quiet and I don’t have to do any maintenance like shaft drive or a chain. The Commander has a 1700cc motor which has all the power and torque that you will ever need. It’s by far is the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden, and I’ve ridden a lot of bikes including several different Harley Davidsons. It is a shame that more people do not look Triumphs they are is fantastic motorcycle. The only problem that I’ve ever had with the motorcycle is a dead battery. The only complaint that I have, is the sound level of the horn. I took it off and put on a aftermarket horn. Anyone considering getting a Motorcycle should go check out Triumph’s line. If you’re looking for a great cruiser, this is the one to get! You won’t be disappointed. I am constantly getting compliments on how beautiful the motorcycle is. Ride safe and have fun. Show less

It's a good, with a comfortable ride. Its suspension is a bit soft, but it only makes a difference with big bumps, or riding 2 up. It could also use a gas gauge and a clock. Show less

This motorcycle is by far, the best handling bike that I have ever driven. I've owned a Superglide, Yamaha Roadliner and a Road King, all good bikes but, nothing compared to the Thunderbird. The transmission is super smooth. It's a beefy machine, weighing in at 750 lbs. but maneuvers like a smaller bike. The one word that I would use to describe it, nimble. Show less

I bought my Storm new in August and put nearly 2,500 miles on it in two months. It's fast, comfortable, handles great, has strong brakes and plenty of torque. I can't comment on reliability because it's so new but after months and months of research, for the price it was the best out there. It has a great look and it's not just another same as the next Harley. No offense but out of a hundred bikes, one or two are Triumphs. I prefer quality over quantity - great bike!! Show less

I bought my 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1700 in March of 2012. She has the sexiest paint scheme I think I've ever seen...Phantom Haze Red. She had been previously ridden by a retired policeman in New York. He'd put very few miles on her. I sold my 2010 Triumph America (another fantastic machine) to buy the T-Bird. While I loved my America, I have to say that the Thunderbird is a major step up. The power produced in her 104 cubic inch parallel twin is much more than I'll ever need. The deep, throaty thump thump of those massive cylinders makes me smile every time I fire the engine up. For a big machine, her center of gravity is low enough to make her feel much smaller than her true size. She handles better than any other bike of this size that I've ridden...and I've ridden many including BMWs, Harleys (Softails, Dynas, Dressers and Customs). She feels light even at slow speeds and is nimble in the city. Get her on the open road and she just shines. I love this motorcycle and wouldn't trade her for any other bike (except maybe another T-Bird). Show less

I have been very happy with my 2010 Thunderbird. My mate in England provided be with just enough Union Jacks to set it apart from others. The handling is superior to any other bike like this. Mine has the Triumph shorty pipes, which sound good, but I will upgrade when the warranty is out. It has great power and outhandles any other bike in its class. As with other reviews, the touring seat is a must - mine came with the promo pack last year. I come from a sport bike background, and this is the perfect cruiser for someone who still cares about how his bike handles. Show less
