Triumph Daytona 955i reviews

Being so tall it was hard to find a bike that I was comfortable on. After about 8 months of searching I stumbled across the Daytona 675 and fell in love with it immediately. Everything about this bike fits me perfectly; power, response, comfort, agility, speed, and appearance. I couldn't have bought a better first bike, definitely a keeper. For anyone who knows nothing about Triumphs, it's worth checking them out! Show less

I've owned this bike, a 2004 Special Edition, for 6,000 miles. So far in just a few short 5 months of riding season I am extremely impressed. The looks are amazing. Everybody likes it, especially with the single sided swingarm. Plus the exclusivity is great also. Everybody has a GSXR, CBR, ZX or R1. You can stand out from the crowd and keep right up with this machine. Power and torque... just hold on! I'm a little split if I'm upset they stopped production in 2006 with no plans for a replacement, but all in all, it's good because I have one and nobody else can! But seriously, if you have the opportunity to ride or even own this bike, you won't be disappointed. Show less

Looks awesome, great speed, pretty aggressive styling which gets heavy on the wrists, but if you don't want to be like everyeone else, this is a great sport bike. Show less

So I consider my '05 Daytona 650 my first bike (although I had an old 250 Interceptor for a few weeks in NYC, in the middle of winter) and absolutely love it. I started off quite nervous about riding it, but it just inspires confidence. Dealing with the strong winds here in Vegas is the only thing I don't like about riding, but this bike feels rock solid when being blasted by a gust from the side. I haven't opened her up much, but I did scare myself in 3rd gear once when I accelerated a little too hard and felt the front wheel lifting a little too much! I've already had a handful of people admiring the bike, even non-riders who don't care for the Jap bikes, they love this Triumph, and half the people I work with, are looking to now buy a bike, most of them wanting a Triumph! Can't wait to get the first oil change out of the way, and take it over 6k rpm... Show less

I owned this bike for 3 years (an '04 S.E.) and it has been wonderful. Anyone who has a passion for motorcycles will ask you about it. On the flip side, every Jap bike owner will want to race you. Your wrists will feel pressure after long rides & my upper leg muscles tend to want to cramp (a tendency for all sport bikes). Feels excellent at highway speeds & passes on demand. If you let the battery run down, ghost trouble codes will begin to set, so be sure to keep it charged. Many sites state that the cylinder head will leak oil due to poor casting (lots of air passages that oil finds its way through). I did not notice this, but keep your eye on it. Also, the brakes are rather thin compared to other sportbikes, so warpage can occur more easily. These are all for the most part trivial problems & I wouldn't trade mine for any other. If you like to tour more, the Triumph Sprint ST might be a better suit. Much more ergonomically designed riding position. The Daytona 955i was discontinued in '06, so if you want one, find them now before they're all gone. I find the bike likes to overheat here in AZ, so engine ice is a good purchase. Show less

I had a GSXR 600 as my first rocket and didn't think it could get better. I saw this awesome looking bike, test drove it and sold my GIXXER the next day to pay for my 650. I haven't even missed my GSXR because of this awesome machine. The 650 has better power and better acceleration than the GSXR and CBR I have ridden. This is a great and reliable bike. won't sell it unless I have to!!! Show less

I have been impressed from day one. The bike seriously goes exactly where you want it. The grip is superb. You really feel as though you are on a race bike. And it has no problem taking you around the corner or across town. Receiving looks and compliments everywhere you go. I am completely satisfied and glad I choose the D675 over the GSX-R750. I bought this bike with the intention of buying a 900 only becouse of my height and weight. I rode the TT, the model before the Daytona and loved it. Once I sat on the 600, I fell in love. Everywhere I go it gets more attention than my friend's 1000 and 600 rr Hondas. They hate it. This is a bike I'll never get rid of. Especially coming off a Honda, I've never felt so comfortable on a bike with out it being a cruiser. On to the Speedmaster. I need two bikes in the garage. lol .. Show less

Had the cash and I WANTED a liter bike. Read every review I could find and settled on getting a Ninja. Since I never buy something I haven't rode I went to the shop and tested both the big Ninjas...the 10 & the 14 and loved them both. However, the sales person knew I spent most of my time flinging myself around mountain twisties and suggested I test the 675. 3,000 miles later and even more happy now than when I first got it. The tighter the road, the more it shows it mettle. I have no doubt I can ride this faster in the real world curves than I would have on a liter bike... it's brilliant!! Show less

Given the fact that I'm only 19, and only owned one bike before the Daytona (Katana 600, ew I know), I'm still blown out of the water. Just by looking the the numbers and specs, it's obvious that the Daytona could most likely blow away any other middle weight bike. The steering is unbelievably crisp and responsive and the throttle response is flawless. I get chills down my spine every time I accelerate on this bike; just the exhaust note and the feel of the torque, even at 3-4k rpm, makes you feel like you're on the greatest middleweight on the planet. All-in-all...if you're looking for a middleweight sports bike, have a little self control, and want to go really really fast, this is by far the best choice. Best thing about it is that it MSRPs no more than any other middleweight out there. I will never regret buying this bike! Show less
