Although, the road glide custom is agile, partly due to the low center of gravity this is a 800 pound gorilla of a motorcycle!! Handles very well. This motorcycle has been a joy to own. Originally purchased from a family friend who bought it new and after deployment overseas decided when she returned not to ride anymore. I made extensive upgrades to it for light touring around Arizona. I had some wonderful rides on weekends when I was working and for a while before and after Covid when I retired. I really want to ride more but I am turning 73 soon and I am concerned that my motor skills just aren't where they should be for safe riding. This bike still has many miles of wonderful riding experiences left in her. Anyone looking for a comfortable easy riding light touring bike for weekend trips will not be disappointed. Show less

well all I can say is Smooth and very fast off the line and great bike for around town , and some hwy too . Bobbed this one out with a springer front end , Nice Birley rear shocks in rear . Too cool to mention , turns a lot of heads were ever I go on it ... Show less

2006 883R sportster , professionally modified by Steve Shore , former builder , customizer for Iron Horse magazine . Mild custom , with many uograde components , all "top shelf" eg. Wiseco, Mikuni,Screamin' Eagle , SuperTrapp , Twin-tec , and more . Very agressive performer, always garaged and never ridden in wet weather . Must be seen to appreciate the beauty and functionality oif the long list of upgrades . Approx . 13,349 original miles now . Purchased from Harley Dealer formely owned by dealer head tech . NOTE: This is a review of a Sportster 883 Iron (Not an option in the dropdown) I've never owned a Harley before this one. I've always heard negative things about how Harley's are difficult to maintain and constantly break down... however, this is NOT my experience with this Sportster. TBH... this was an impulse buy from a neighbor; however, it turned into a fun adventure! I hadn't ridden a motorcycle for close to a decade and it was a great return to the excitement of "flying" without wings. Prior to this bike I had a couple of Yamaha cruisers, a Victory, and had driven every type of bike possible. I've held a motorcycle endorsement on my license since 1998. If you're interested in a Harley, Sportsters (883 or 1200) are a good initiation into the HOG. Well-balanced, plenty of power to move anyone (I'm 6'4" and 240 pounds) and fun to ride. Show less

Bike purrs like a kitten, but with a great Harley sound. I get compliments every time I ride it. Have done long rides and short rides. It's always fun. This is a great looking and great running machine! Show less

I've ridden this Sportster for about 6 years now and it handles and performs beautifully. Whether you you want to cruise along at a steady pace or blast down the freeway like a sport-bike this motorcycle is happy either way. Although this bike has a double seat and rear foot-pegs the passenger comfort is fairly minimal. The exhaust note has a deep healthy sound that I love. The saddlebag capacity is fairly small, but there's room for some essentials. I recently bought a used Harley Trike, if there was room in my garage I would be keeping this Sporty. Show less
