NOTE: This is a review of a Sportster 883 Iron (Not an option in the dropdown) I've never owned a Harley before this one. I've always heard negative things about how Harley's are difficult to maintain and constantly break down... however, this is NOT my experience with this Sportster. TBH... this was an impulse buy from a neighbor; however, it turned into a fun adventure! I hadn't ridden a motorcycle for close to a decade and it was a great return to the excitement of "flying" without wings. Prior to this bike I had a couple of Yamaha cruisers, a Victory, and had driven every type of bike possible. I've held a motorcycle endorsement on my license since 1998. If you're interested in a Harley, Sportsters (883 or 1200) are a good initiation into the HOG. Well-balanced, plenty of power to move anyone (I'm 6'4" and 240 pounds) and fun to ride. Show less

This motorcycle could turn a quick ride to the corner store into a cross-country road trip in the blink of an eye. The most comfortable ride ever...It feels like your floating. It has a light, nimble frame for easy handling. Detachable windshield and lockable saddlebags for the open road. The seat is so comfortable you can ride all day. And a low center of gravity coupled with suspension that lets you ride through tight city traffic and twisting miles of highway with equal ease. I've never had a Harley before - this is my first one. First impressions are: 1. Smoother than I had imagined. 2. WAY more character than I thought it could have. 3. Good suspension over bumps. 4. Very pleasant riding experience. One con is a lack of power. While it has good torque off the line, it doesn't pull particularly hard. This would make for a great first Harley for someone. I'm an experienced rider and have ridden sports bikes over the years so maybe got used to that power. But I honestly don't miss not having neck-snapping acceleration. This bike is about cruising in comfort and style and character. I really like it. Show less

Love riding this bike. It's a really comfortable bike to ride. Some days, I will ride through an entire tank and not be sore at the end of the tour. Big, heavy, and reliable. Love the classic, retro look of the bike, especially when I remove the windshield. Show less

This is an older HD, so obviously not quite as comfy as the newer models; however, it has held my wife and me in good stead through long trips from SoCal up to Wyoming and Victoria, B.C., among others. With the upgraded Performance Package installed in 2012, the overall power increased by about 15%, and that was a worthwhile addition. I just turned 70, and my joints are starting to fail on me, so physically it was time for me to admit that Father Time has gotten the best of me, at least when it comes to riding a bike. But I've loved my HD from the day I purchased it, and although over the sixteen years that I've owned it, it's got a few bumps and nicks, it's still a solid bike, and if I was ten years younger, I wouldn't consider parting with it. Excellent touring bike, fast off the line and cruise about 95-100 mph easy. Comfortable and handles well. Apehangers make it easy to ride. El Ray backrest included. Helmet also included size large HD Helmet. Show less

I loved the comfort and security she gave me. The stereo system never kept me bored on a ride. I always got compliments on the color as well as the lights installed underneath. It is truly a smooth comfortable ride for both rider and passenger. Show less

Best Shovel Head I have ever ridden. Literally as smooth as my new Harley Hydro Glide Icon Series. The new Trans shifts smoother than any new Harley, and does not leak or even stain. Dependable as a new bike after restoration, while keeping the stock integrity by using new replacement parts that are stock specs. The modern upgrades do not physically take away from the stock FLH. Including electronic ignition, upgraded alternator, true dual exhaust fishtails, all new bushings and seals on wheels, swing arm, goose-neck, forks, and handlebar bushings. Front and rear brake master cylinders rebuilt with new brake pads, rear drum turned, kick and electric start are both dependable, brand new high-end whitewall tires, new bag locks, new battery with tender, new snap on/off windshield, and so much more. Sellers has over $21,000 in this restoration, and it shows. Show less

I love everything about this motorcycle way cruises the way it takes a long drive on the highway! I love the power it has and I love the way it takes those turns. I love how easy it is to maintain it myself by doing oil changes and modifications myself. Show less
