This motorcycle has been a joy to own. Originally purchased from a family friend who bought it new and after deployment overseas decided when she returned not to ride anymore. I made extensive upgrades to it for light touring around Arizona. I had some wonderful rides on weekends when I was working and for a while before and after Covid when I retired. I really want to ride more but I am turning 73 soon and I am concerned that my motor skills just aren't where they should be for safe riding. This bike still has many miles of wonderful riding experiences left in her. Anyone looking for a comfortable easy riding light touring bike for weekend trips will not be disappointed. Show less

Rides smooth, perfect for first time riders, great for long trips, the side bags are a plus, smooth design and not bulky like the bigger cruisers. Fits in small spaces. Engine is clean. very versatile as the bags can be removed to be more like a sportster. The windshield can also be removed if needed Show less

2006 883R sportster , professionally modified by Steve Shore , former builder , customizer for Iron Horse magazine . Mild custom , with many uograde components , all "top shelf" eg. Wiseco, Mikuni,Screamin' Eagle , SuperTrapp , Twin-tec , and more . Very agressive performer, always garaged and never ridden in wet weather . Must be seen to appreciate the beauty and functionality oif the long list of upgrades . Approx . 13,349 original miles now . Purchased from Harley Dealer formely owned by dealer head tech . NOTE: This is a review of a Sportster 883 Iron (Not an option in the dropdown) I've never owned a Harley before this one. I've always heard negative things about how Harley's are difficult to maintain and constantly break down... however, this is NOT my experience with this Sportster. TBH... this was an impulse buy from a neighbor; however, it turned into a fun adventure! I hadn't ridden a motorcycle for close to a decade and it was a great return to the excitement of "flying" without wings. Prior to this bike I had a couple of Yamaha cruisers, a Victory, and had driven every type of bike possible. I've held a motorcycle endorsement on my license since 1998. If you're interested in a Harley, Sportsters (883 or 1200) are a good initiation into the HOG. Well-balanced, plenty of power to move anyone (I'm 6'4" and 240 pounds) and fun to ride. Show less

Excellent motorcycle, extremely reliable, comfortable ride with forward controls and mini Apes. Always kept up with maintenance. This bike made it to Sturgis 2012 and back to Seattle. Helping my mother in CA selling the bike there. Have title and will have bill of sale for the buyer. Bike is located in Milpitas CA at the moment. Will sell for 6000. Show less

This is an older HD, so obviously not quite as comfy as the newer models; however, it has held my wife and me in good stead through long trips from SoCal up to Wyoming and Victoria, B.C., among others. With the upgraded Performance Package installed in 2012, the overall power increased by about 15%, and that was a worthwhile addition. I just turned 70, and my joints are starting to fail on me, so physically it was time for me to admit that Father Time has gotten the best of me, at least when it comes to riding a bike. But I've loved my HD from the day I purchased it, and although over the sixteen years that I've owned it, it's got a few bumps and nicks, it's still a solid bike, and if I was ten years younger, I wouldn't consider parting with it. I absolutely love this bike smooth ride, quick, easy handling. I would have another without a doubt. Great bikes to personalize. In my case I like the ape hangers, I even lowed the rear suspension 2" (not for everyone) I like the Heritage Classic because it converts well into a Cholo style bike, if you like that look. I have never had any issues with this motorcycle. Show less
