Waited to write this review until after my trip to Milwaulkee Wi. 4000 miles in 9 days, a pretty good test. It does have a pretty heavy front end, not uncomfortable though, especially be careful when the road is wet. Have heard the seat is not very friendly, it just needs to be broke in. Also a padded backrest for the seat bar is a must. After the trip and during I never had soreness, butt or back. I also have 16" apes installed which turn you into a sail in the wind. Overall the bike ran beautifully, no problems whatsoever. Styling is grade "A". A very unique look for those who like retro production bikes.

This is my first Harley and I love it! If you don't like turning heads or drawing attention, this is not the bike for you. As for the ride and performance, it's awesome!! Stock pipes are a little too quiet but, that's an easy fix. I'm glad I got the 03' Springer rather waiting for 2004's to come... read more

Runs great, too, and I've put SYN 3 in all the cavities. Stock exhausts are a little too quiet, so I'm looking to add some louder slip-ons, but don't want to make the neighbors mad, either. HS is a great bike.

I have logged 500 miles on my new 2003 HS. All I can say is WOW!. The bike has an incredibly smooth, comfortable ride that's a joy going through the canyons or on the open plains. The Ride: Before I bought a Springer I read reviews that mentioned a "heavy" or "stiff" front end. After 500 miles of riding, I have no idea what those reviews were referring to because this is one incredibly smooth, comfortable ride and it has never once felt stiff or heavy. I put 3,000 combined miles on a night train and fatboy last year and the Heritage Springer is head and shoulders above those models in comfort, handling and ride position...that is my humble opinion. Appearance: If you ask me, the heritage springer is the most unique model in the HD lineup. The front end is just a work of art, bottom line. It's sculpture in chrome...a direct throwback to the bikes Harley made in the 30's and 40's. When I ride and look at this bike, I feel like I'm back in the 1930's or 40's style-wise while enjoying all the benefits of modern technology for a smooth ride. When you ride the bike you see the springs working up by the stem...very cool. The valanced fenders, the fishtail pipes, the shaped tail-light, the light on the front fender, the basket weave bags and saddle, etc., are all beautifully detailed styling features that just set this bike apart from all other stock HDs. HD is no longer making the Heritage Springer after 2003....I got real lucky and found one after calling 7 other dealers all of which had sold their inventory for all of 2003. Some even mentioned that they had a run on them after the word got out that HD is no longer making them after '03. The springer is different, you don't see many of them, but they are great rides and even better lookers. No one outside a biker bar or an HD dealership ever stopped to look at my night train or fat boy, but in just a few weeks there have been dozens of people that stop and stare at my '03 HS...I like that.

I first saw a picture of this bike over Christmas in 2002. I had never riden a springer before but was stunned by the looks of this bike and HAD to have one. I picked my 2003 FLSTSI in Feb and have only been able to get it out of the garage about three times (spring comes late here in WI). But the few times I have been able to cruise have been unbeliveable. This bike rides and handles like a dream. The extra weight and springer front end keeps the bike steady and smooth over the bumps and dips. It rides equally as well with a passenger. I love the amount chrome and retro styling. It surely turns heads as we rumble past.
