the air / oil cooled 865cc version (2009 up to 2019) are SUPER reliable and are still a high performance feel and a very sporty and accurately handling bike: it goes exactly where you want and has STRONG braking power if you come across one with 2 discs up front. (is REALLY the same as a Speedmaster 865, what I've owned) This has been a great motorcycle all around, in every way, had very few corrective maintenance issues ever, in the 15 years of owning it, just regular preventive maintenance is all I've had to do 99% of the time, it's also good on gas yet... read more

Never had any major issue mechanically, just wear

Bulletproof. Powerful. Eye-catching. Crowd gathers everywhere I stop - most think the bike is brand new even though it's a 2009. Couldn't ask for a better ride - fast, powerful, comfortable, no need to shift much on mountain rides due to the massive torque from the 2300cc engine...and I'm a big guy. I highly recommend this bike for anyone looking for a worry-free bike that packs a wallop at an affordable price.

In a sea of Harleys this bike gets attention and rightly so. Mine is an '08 with 30k trouble-free miles. Just like the other reviewers said, it has loads of torque. It's a great bike with loads of power and handles extremely well on city and highway roads. I average 35 mpg. city and 40 mpg. highway. My only Gripe is the tires don't last long. I run Metzler tires. There does not seen to be many tires out there that will accomodate this model. 9,000... read more

I run Metzler tires. There does not seen to be many tires out there that will accomodate this model. 9,000 miles is about all you can get out of these tires. They are good tires and handle well, but expensive. Overall, I love the bike.

It has a smoothly responsive engine and handling, the bike is powerful yet controllable. It turns heads with its looks and burbling, muscular sound. It's a great combination bike for track riding or touring/commuting. The seat is pretty unsupportive, and the steering lock is very limited. A few seals had to be replaced by the dealer and they had problems with the regulator/rectifiers that are now solved. In the final analysis this bike has instant classic written all over it.

I'm relatively new to riding. I love my Bonneville, it is perfect for me. This is my third bike. My previous bikes were V Star's, which are nice bikes, but I never felt totally comfortable on them. I heard the seat height was lowered on the Bonneville, so I tried a test ride, and realized immediately I didn't want my current bike anymore, I wanted a Bonneville. The Bonneville fits me so much better than the big cruisers did, and is sooooo easy to handle. It's much more nimble and shifts beautifully. I would recommend it for a beginner or a smaller rider... anyone who wants a bike that is easy to handle and fun to ride.
