Maybe I will tire of it, time will tell, but for now it is exactly what I want to be riding.

Cosworth helped in the design of the engine so at idle it sounds like the valves are coming apart. When you rev the throttle however, it sounds like a leopard... an angry leopard. No one else will hear this though because you will be gone. It is very quick. This engine always seems to have more to give. I have not found the end of the power yet. The bike is over-engineered so even a decade after being built it still looks brand new. I wish they still made bikes like this. People stare at the bike wherever I go, and if I want to leave, a quick flick of the throttle and the fun really begins. If you can find a used one, they are a great bike to have.

I bought mine new in 1998 after test riding a standard Thunderbird then the Sport. I liked the bike for what it does. It cranks, runs good, handles ok and is a Triumph. I have owned older Triumphs with Big Bore kits that are faster than this bike but they were not as reliable. The biggest...

I bought my bike used in '05 from a Honda dealer out of state. '99 model with only 2200 miles on it. This is my second bike; I held out for a long time until I could afford a Triumph, and I am glad I did. The bike handles well, very agile, quick off the line and fairly comfortable on long rides. Maintenance has been minimal with oil change, coolant change, and a set of new tires in '06, and keeping the chain oiled and adjusted. Whoever owned the bike before me removed the factory air box and put on UNI Filters, also put on a set of Supertrapp Exhaust pipes, which makes the in-line 3 sound great and gets the attention of everyone around, and it seems lower than stock. I love this bike and plan to keep it forever. If anyone is looking for quality and fun in a used bike, you can't go wrong with the T'bird Sport.

I have owened this bike for 7 years and have never stopped having fun. With over 100 verified horsepower (103.5) at the rear wheel, there isn't much need for any more power. The gearing is spot on and is perfect for the Dragon - 2nd gear all the way. If you can find a better or more dependable...

The gearing is spot on and is perfect for the Dragon - 2nd gear all the way. If you can find a better or more dependable bike, I would be surprised. Almost zero problems for 7 years and almost 37,000 miles. Try that with a gixxer!

It always starts, but it doesn't always sound like it will. It's not the fastest bike, but it's fast enough. It's not the quickest through the twisties, but it's quick enough for me. Not many folks own these and I like that, too. My CB1000 Honda vibrates worse. Overall, I like the T-Bird a lot.

It has great torque and power, smooth transmission, does not tire with long excursions, is comfortable on the highway, is nimble in traffic, is low maintenance, incorporates great workmanship, and is a joy to own. Triumph certainly had a focus on North American riding style when they put out this product. Am surprised that it never did fulfill the designers early sales expectation for the cycle and that it had such a short market life as a new product. A good classic styled cycle with great current technology.

After putting 10,000 miles on my Legend I'd like to report that I still love it! Dollar for dollar, you can't match the performance or style of this bike. I have customized mine a bit, with my favorite upgrade being the Targa "silencers" that give it a great sound and better performance. So far for repairs, I think of all these as minor: -Neutral sensor switch had to be replaced (bike wouldn't start because it "thought" it was in gear). -Speedo cable (necessary to avoid those speeding tickets) -Throttle cable (would you believe that broke one block from my house on my way back from a 1,300 mile road trip?) -Spark plug went bad -Headlight bulb (good idea to replace anyway---I put in a brighter one) This bike has been a joy so far. I love the ride and performance. I do wish it had another (higher) top gear, but maybe that helps keep my speed down. There are gearing options to get more top-end out of this bike (like other Tbird models have), but I wouldn't want to give up any of the off-the-line performance. This is a great bike, worthy of road trips and easy for around town. It is nible and easy to handle and the looks can't be beat!
