I just got the 07 R1 about 2 weeks ago and already I have put 1,000 miles on her. It has to be one of the most comfortable street-bikes I have ridden on and the response you get from the motor is just amazing. I jumped from a 1990 600 to a 97 1200 then right to the R1 without missing a beat and I...

If you are pondering getting this bike, stop pondering and go buy the best motorcycle you can ever own.

This is the perfect 600 in my opinion. I think it is the prettiest 600 out there too. The performance, handling and reliability are exceptional. This is my first sportbike and I put more miles on it in three months than I did in three years on my cruiser. It is great around town, super nimble and so much fun to ride. I get 44-48 MPG. The fingers do get a little numb after 40 or so miles at 80mph, but it's nothing to complain about. I am completely satisfied with this bike!

I bought this bike about two months ago. I had never rode a bike until about a week before I got this one. The first day I bought my R6 I was too scared to take it above 47mph. After about 200 miles of riding, I was ready to take it sooo much faster! I didn't because of the break in period, but it is such a good bike to learn on, it begged to go faster! I'm 5'10" and have somewhat short legs. The bike does sit up a lot higher than most. I cannot get both feet flat on the ground at the same time, however, I'm pretty close. If you are short this may not be the best for you. 4 days after I got mine, my buddy bought an 07 gixer 600. I rode his, and afterwards, I was actually much happier with mine! The gixer was more comfortable, but mine rode soooo much smoother, it didn't vibrate like the gixer either. We switched bikes for a quick ride, and he even admits that mine is AMAZING at high speed cornering! It is a track bike, it is meant to handle corners well!! I have 3300 miles on it now, and I have had it up to 154mph in 5th gear, I started to run out of road then. I would imagine that it might hit 160-165. If you're trying to make a decision between the gixer and the R6, I would get the R6 for high speed performance handeling, and cornering, if you just wana cruise, then get the gixer. I'm trading my R6 for an R1 next summer!

After months of searching for a bike, I found that with my height, Yamaha bikes fit me the best (really long legs) and after getting over my ego in having an R6, I found that the 600R is a perfect bike for new rides as well as pros. It has plenty of power, topping out at around 130 or so. Plus, for the price, it can't be beat. I could not afford an R6 and after taking the motorcycle safty course I realized that I did not need a 100+ HP bike, and as far as specs go, from 99 to 07 the 600r have all the same spec just different plastic. This is an amazing bike, you don't need a track bike for the street.

I purchased my R6s April 7th, 2007. Since that day every time I have started it up till the point I have parked it, it has been completely flawless. I have friends with the R6, the GSXR 600 and constantly I hear of issues they are having. Never with my R6S. It is smoother than you will imagine...

I have friends with the R6, the GSXR 600 and constantly I hear of issues they are having. Never with my R6S. It is smoother than you will imagine and faster than you imagine. I can't say that I will ever be able to use it to its full potential even stock. Plenty of bike. Great bike for experienced or beginners, just a great bike.
