I have a 2004 yz85 there has not been much upgrades since the 04 so they are pretty much the same bike stock except for seat, graphics, et cetera. This bike pulls hard on the straights, starts and out of corners has good handling over jumps and through the whoops, when you have the suspension set up right. Sometimes it likes to jump out of the right line in the corners but over all it's one of the top 85's if not the best. Show less

This bike rocks, it is the best. I ride trails and motocross and I will probably start racing it soon. I smash my mates' bikes and I even beat an older Suzuki PE 250. We were riding next to each other than he started to try and race me, I let him go past then I caught up and over took him in 4th. This bike is the best and it rocks my socks. Show less

This is my second dirt bike. It is very fast and is an awesome bike. I would recommend this more than Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or any others... I wouldn't recommend this bike for beginners because it is clutch and quick. Show less

this is the best bike i have ever owned. it is wicked fast and when you hit the powerband it is so flippin fast. it has a good amount of low end and it kills on the track. it is actually a 2003. i mostly ride at the thomaston dam and you need a skid plate. the best one to get is works connection. i got a pro circut and it is loud you also want to get a twin air filter. i used to have a jr80 2002 i am trying to sell on bargainnews for 1050 obo. that bike is fast and its unpredictible on the trails but it is totaly different. i was going to get a ttr 125 but i am so glad i didn't. and now i am starting to ride on the track and the suspention would be killed. it does have a lot of tourqe. you want to buy a bike WITH A CLUTCH before you get this to get used to it. this is a fun bike. This bike is crazy!It hsa great suspension and power. If you are experiensed with 2-strokes, this bike is for you. It's great for trails, tracks or just open desert. Amazingly FAST!!! BEST BIKE EVER!!! Show less

This bike is fast. I have actual proof that I beat a couple of other 85s and some quads. I can say this bike is flat out fast. You can jump a 90ft downhill double and a 75ft triple, so go out and buy a 2004 yz85. Show less

We looked very hard at all the manufacturers and their models available out there, because we wanted to reward our son for a great job in school. Therefore, we decided to purchase a 2005 yz85. As a formal racer, I feel that Yamaha has always been a good manufacturer of two-wheel equipment and have always done right by me. In addition, we wanted to give him a good platform for him to start. WELL, boys let me tell you, he is now running up front in 95% of his races, and the bike has performed flawlessly all year long. I have done some minor modifications like a pipe, reeds, gearing and some suspension tuning. In addition, the kid is kicking butt and taking NO names. CAG Show less

This bike is awesome if you keep it in the powerband. I got this bike at the start of 2005 and was very much impressed because once you get it to stay in the powerband you can rip by the competitors with ease. I have ridden a kx85 and a cr85 and this is by far the best. Show less
