The Virago XV 750 is one of the best all around balanced street machine I have ridden in over 34 years. I have owned 18 street machines in 34 years. Why Yamaha discontinued this model is beyond me? The engine is bullet proof, mag wheels, shaft and well balanced on handling. Over all great...

Last July I purchased a 1996 Virago 750 after a 17 year furlow from riding. I am impressed with the overall quality of the bike, the speedo and tach location, and general comfort. I also added a wind screen and Max and Willey saddlebags. It is a good re-introduction into riding at a very...

Just picked it up from a dealership (State 8 Motorcycles) with 12k miles and already put 800 miles in just 4 wks. I've been asked if its brand new. Ryan at the State 8 put me on the best possible choice for the price. I took my motorcycle license test on this bike. Great balance! My wife...

Ryan at the State 8 put me on the best possible choice for the price. I took my motorcycle license test on this bike. Great balance! My wife now wants to get her license to get her fair share of time on this ride. One whish, for an extra gear. The engine runs at 4500 rpm's on the freeway. Buy one, you'll love it!

My bike is actually an '82, but close enough. My riding is about 75 percent freeway speeds (70-75mph), rest backcountry roads. The bike is perfectly happy 'till you hit around 65 mph. From then on it can be challenging to keep a straight line while being blown around by the surrounding autos....

From then on it can be challenging to keep a straight line while being blown around by the surrounding autos. The windshield I installed might amplify this, but the vibration felt at 70mph is also noticeable. Great for in-town riding though. Mine came with "drag pipes" installed (used bike) and for all the world sounds like an 883 Sportster. Cheap fun, but wish it was more stable.

I just purchased my 750 from a private owner. He loved it and I can see why. It has 19K on it and the chrome and great color scheme will make heads turn. The bike performance is excellent, it is a great first bike, handles well in traffic or just cruisin the backcountry roads. This was the...

The bike performance is excellent, it is a great first bike, handles well in traffic or just cruisin the backcountry roads. This was the last year for this model and it is a good one. I will probably up-grade to a Road Star next year. I highly recommend this bike, I'm sure you will get many great safe reliable miles from it...Ride Safe Tony

This bike is approaching 20 years old. The only problem I've had in over 20k is a blown Head gasket which did not leave me stranded, just decreased preformance a bit. It has been a pleasure to work on, simple and straight forword to the end. The bike rides very well through town, and always has...

It has been a pleasure to work on, simple and straight forword to the end. The bike rides very well through town, and always has enough "pep" to get you moving in a hurry (which is what biking is about isn't it?) At normal highway speeds it is comfortable, however when you bury the speedo (85) the ride gets a bit rough. I would highly recomend anyone this bike for reliablity and ease of use, even at 20+ years old it still looks and runs like a dream.

Being the first air-cooled V-twin should guarantee it a place in the history books by itself. But that's not the only reason to like this bike. I bought mine with only 13k miles on the clock and have put 15,000 more in the last 2 years. It's reliable, good looking, and comfortable to ride...

Being the first air-cooled V-twin should guarantee it a place in the history books by itself. But that's not the only reason to like this bike. I bought mine with only 13k miles on the clock and have put 15,000 more in the last 2 years. It's reliable, good looking, and comfortable to ride around town. After having a Russell Day long saddle built for it, and installing a Ventura cargro rack for extra supplies, you can cruise 450 miles to Disneyland in one day, like I did, and not have a problem. Of course, the 115 - 125 mile tank range (before reserve) is a bit small, but it gives you a reason for a break. In clean, & shiny condition, people still look. It's a bit cold blooded due in part to the EPA regulations in force at the time, but once warmed up, pulls acceptably hard in all gears. And it's very simple to maintain. I hope to keep mine for many more reliable years.

Loved it from day one, only problem is I keep wearing out the rubber because it makes me ride so far and so often. 40,000+ miles with only routine maintenance. Great bike. My son has a BMW R75/7 and we've cruised together from Mississippi to Canada on many memorable trips. Usually loaded with...

Loved it from day one, only problem is I keep wearing out the rubber because it makes me ride so far and so often. 40,000+ miles with only routine maintenance. Great bike. My son has a BMW R75/7 and we've cruised together from Mississippi to Canada on many memorable trips. Usually loaded with camping gear etc. Smooth at freeway speeds, fun power on back roads. We like to avoid the interstates and experience the trip more than the destination. I,d like a new bike but this one still looks and runs like new. Oh Well.

I found a 95 750 Virago with 139 miles -- and what a buy. It gets 50 miles to the gallon. Has a great ride and sits well. The bike looks good with lots of shine. The only problem is at about 70, it gives off a little engine vibration. But from 45 to 65 a great ride. The bike is balance fairly good...

This turned out to be a peach to hang on to.
