I am a new rider and this is my very first bike. I've already taken it on a road trip to the TN and it rode like an absolute charm. My rear never got sore and the acceleration was fantastic. People say this is a great starter bike but I think this is a great bike for even the most seasoned rider. I even went down on the bike and I can say with all certainty that this bike is rock solid.

Well it's been about 25 years since I sold my Gold Wing and the saying is true - once a rider, always a rider. I researched, read and test drove lots of bikes from Honda to Harley but decided on the Virago. It's a 750 and has everything I want in a bike - looks, speed, agility, fuel economy, even the stock pipes aren't too bad. It has 16,000 miles on it and still rides like new. I'm back in the saddle and loving it.

Well today I rode on the interstate (got stuck behind a garbage truck lucky me)the two things that scare me are other drivers and wind.I think this is an awesome bike, great on gas.And dont forget the V twin.

I bought a '93 Virago 750 about 1 1/2 years ago. The bike had just over 6700 miles on it. I changed the fluids and filters, and have been riding it all over since. I took an 1800 mile camping trip to Big Bend National park, and it never missed a beat, even loaded with camping gear and... read more
I bought a '93 Virago 750 about 1 1/2 years ago. The bike had just over 6700 miles on it. I changed the fluids and filters, and have been riding it all over since. I took an 1800 mile camping trip to Big Bend National park, and it never missed a beat, even loaded with camping gear and supplies. the bike would run comfortably at 70+ all day long. I have also traveled to Oklahoma and Arkansas camping. Again good solid performance. My rear gets a little tired after a couple hundred miles, but with the small tank I have to stop at 130-140 miles to refuel. That is my only complaint - a small fuel tank.

This is great bike. It rides nice and has more than enough power to run with bigger bikes. I ride with a group of six other riders all with bikes well above 650cc. We roll every weekend and I have yet to be left behind; in fact I'm the lead bike more times than knot. We cruse at 65-75 miles per hours. I'm having great fun on my 2005 Yamaha Virago 250. It's light, quick and powerful. I recommend this bike highly. The best little known fact about the bike is it sounds great too!!!

I rode with a group that included a couple of Fat Boys. They were surprised at how well this bike moved. I have now moved up to a 650 V-Star. I miss my "little kick butt" cruiser. The weight was perfect for a short rider. The ride on the bigger bike is not that much better. I did not find a lot of vibration at 70 mph as the other reviewer did.

Moves good between 55 and 60 mph, but at 70 virbration kicks in. Still a great bike for in city riding or a trip to the mountains. The V-twin puts out some power. No regrets! For highway travel I would suggest 649 cc or more. That is my next upgrade, most likely another Yamaha. Great job Yamaha! So far I get great gas mileage (more then 60 mpg!)

I went out and bought my 2005 Virago 250 on a whim. I was moved up at my job and I needed to work days and we only had one vehicle in my family. I needed something inexpensive and good on gas. I was going to get a Yamaha Vino Scooter because I thought it would be better for me having never ridden a motorcycle before. We went in the shop and looked around and I was all set to get the Vino but on the way out, my husband said, "Why don't you sit on that one (the Virago) so I can see how you would look on it." I did and decided to get it instead. I love it. I'm only 5' 3" and I love riding. Everyone was shocked at how well I took to riding and after taking the MSC I feel confident that I will continue cruising for years to come.

One twist of the throttle and you're gone. Took my first long trip (450 km) nonstop and purred like a kitten all the way there. 2-up riding is fine and I get just over 200 km/tank. Good enough for touring. I can't say enough about his bike. It really is a joy to ride. It's got the looks, power and comfort that will constantly leave me with a smile on my face after every ride. Get one now!!!
