Yamaha TT-R90E reviews

I purchased an 04 125Le last year used and it's a great bike for all. It pulls wheelies like you wouldn't believe. You don't even have to use the clutch on it. It is really good on turns, too. The only things that are bad is on left hand turns, the chain will pop off and it's really hard to start and warm up. But, all in all, the bike is great. I would recommend a procircut pipe and for 120+ lbs, I would get new fork springs. Show less

I purchased my TT-R230 in the Spring of 2005, and I have no complaints. I agree with all the other reviews that it's a great bike for what it's built for. I primarily ride it on an MX track, and it gets me around just fine. Of course, I cannot keep up with the racer guys on 250F's, but I am not trying to keep up with them. My objective with the TTR is to build skills and have fun. The only problem I have with the bike on the MX track, as other reviewers have noted, is that the suspension is just not built for jumps over 5-7 feet high, and so it does tend to bottom out on the bigger jumps. What I like most about the bike is that it is great to learn on, build skills, and have fun, and best of all it is virtually maintenance-free. The reviewer who had mechanical problems must have purchased a bad apple. I ride on a full-fledged MX track, and the only maintenance I have had to do in the past year and a half is clean the air filter and change the oil regularly. I have not had to replace anything, and I have not had any mechanical problems. I will definitely step up to a full MX bike (like the YZ250F) soon as I think I have reached the limits on the TTR. If you intend to ride trails and fields, this bike will suit you just fine for a long time. If you are a beginner and intend to ride hard on a serious MX track, consider getting a used 250F or 125 two-stroke (or even a used TTR230) on the cheap just to build some skills, and save the rest of your money to buy a new 250F or other MX bike when you are confident on the track. I like this bike a lot! I don't know how all those other people can say it sucks. She runs great and I have never had a problem with it. It is a four stroke and handles like one, it can get up the big hills and speed up when you want it to. Overall, a great bike! Show less

Bought new for my daughter, age14, as an upgrade bike from a TTR 90. She took right to the ease of shifting. Now I want to get her a XT225 at age 16 and she doesn't want to get rid of her TTR125LE. It is a very good bike overall. VERY cold blooded, long warm up time. Starts after about three trys with electric starter, ten seconds, fifteen seconds and finally fires. She has run it on some back trails in TN and on the roads in Ohio. Good learner bike. Dad has GPS confirmed 63 mph (lay down on seat, less wind resistance) had it wrapped pretty tight. Change oil often, Glad I bought it. Show less

My TTR-125 is the best bike ever. I never had any problems with the bike. I would buy another one if I had the money. I would get the electric start, though, because the the bike is hard to start in the cold or in the spring. So what I do is run the carb out of gas when I'm done for the year. Show less

125cc 4 stroke puts out torque and broadband power making this a very, very powerful engine. This bike would smoke a CRF150 from Honda or a 250cc ATV. The TT-R125LE has a top speed of 65 mph, so it is really fast. So, if you're looking for a powerful and fast 125cc dirtbike, this is the right one for you. Show less

This bike has been a blast to own so far, although it didn't take me long to exceed the limitations of the front suspension on jumps. To be fair, I didn't think I would ever do 40 foot jumps, and I'm sure Yamaha didn't design the TTR for that kind of abuse. My next bike will be a YZ. Anyway, the TTR is smooth, comfy, easy to ride, powerful enough to push me around and lands smaller jumps (under 25 feet) very cushy. Buy it if you want to ride... Buy a YZ or a WR if you want to jump. Show less

This bike was my first. I have had this bike for about a month and a half and man does it kick! This bike has a good amount of power. I have done a 30ft jump in 3rd gear! It has a top speed of about 60mph depending on your weight. This bike is the perfect starter bike, the only bad thing is trying to start it when it is cool out. It is great on gas. I did about a 30 mile trail and I could still see gas in my tank. Show less

The Yamaha TTR-125 is a great bike. It has a good amount of power. It is a good bike for beginners that are learning how to use a cluch. It is a good bike for what it is meant for. The TTR-125 is not much of a track bike. It is mostly meant for off roading and messing around on. This is a great bike to get started on. Show less
