Never rode it. But I really do admire Valentino and the patronas team. I think the only motorcycle other than the Honda cbr 1000 repsol hurricane 09 an 2015. I don’t have any money I wish u could afford it. I have my o9 right now my 2015 Has been at DNA lounge for a month and a half because I lost my keys in the fire and I can’t afford to get everything re-keyed sucks I also lost a Ducati panagale v4s corse. It was stolen and I put $15,000 into it and my mom got a fat insurance check because it was in her name and I didn’t get anything back I lost a lot in the fire on my helmets that I collected hot wheels I was going to donate to the kids at the hospital anf of the thing most of my clothes. Mechanic at DNA kept my motorcycle longer than he had too. I was walking around San Leandro for a month and one of those days I got stabbed and I had to get stitches at the hospital so to the owner of the motorcycle shop I told him I could give him my 2015 just to let me have my o9 back Just so I have something to ride or transportation I feel like the mechanic not the owner kind of took advantage of my situation and she got paid by my ex-wife and he never dropped off the motorcycle when he said he was so I’ve been going through a lot and one day when I get back on my feet and start working again I’ll probably try to get that GYTR even if I have to fly to Europe because I know they don’t sell that version out here

Very smooth reliable motorcycle. Tons of power and comfort. Very confident on the pavement and Very well balanced. The dirt is not this bikes strong point too heavy and under sprung for serious off road. Fire roads are fun but definitely have to be ready for the unexpected. Definitely fun in the dirt but not a dirt bike. Long rides are easy. No pain or problems with a 5 or 6 hundred mile day. For the cost and reliability these bikes are a great deal.

But this past year I learned that the V Star 1100 as a starter clutch issues with it. My bike was starting up hard and when I did some investigating I found out this was a issue with the V star 1100. I need to replace it this spring it will cost me about 450$ just for the parts and 3 hours of labor at 78 dollars an hour. That's the only issue I have Yamaha should have done a recall on them. The bike is extremely comfortable for me I'm 5 8 weigh 160 lb I'm 62 years old I will keep the bike until I can't physically ride it anymore. Then buy a Cam Am Spider.

I have owned my 1988 SRX6 Japanese model for a year now.It had done 57000k's when i bought it and only a couple of problems I've had include a leaking valve seal, so did the rope in the plug hole trick and the socket and magnet to remove valve springs and replace the seals. Only other problem was a leaking gas tank but did a POR15 seal job for that. I own a 1995 Yamaha fj1200 as well but the SRX is by far the best handling and most fun bike I have ever owned.Way better than the SR500. I've owned over 35 bikes from 1968 to 2020 and this one is just awesome. Shame they don't make them again.I love the attention it gets when I go on club rides and I've spent lotsa time and money restoring it to original. Great bike for our New Zealand roads that's for sure
