Very nice pieced together bike. Seems like a good runner and perfect for a new owner. I sold a 51 Rapide w/ correct numbers for $50k, just a few years ago. Good luck w/ this one. Very nice pieced together bike. Seems like a good runner and perfect for a new owner. I sold a 51 Rapide w/ correct numbers for $50k, just a few years ago. Good luck w/ this one. I now own a 52 Black Shadow that is a great ride. I took a whole winter making it closer to stock, even suffering the original voltage regulator for almost a year until finally giving up on it and going w/ a Podronics reg. This bike is a nice setup and should make any rider not worried about matching numbers. very happy.

These bikes are awesome. They are as reliable as you make them. Ride them as much as possible and you'll have fewer problems, simply since you've fixed them already. Read everything you can find on them and the VOC Forums are a great source of info along w/ The MightyGarage videos. Parts are easy to get via the VOC or Coventry Spares in the states. People that work on them "and know what they are doing" not so much. Never fear, they increase in value almost every year. This one is a little pricey, but it was just overhauled. The only item that concerns me is the secondary color being "chrome". I sure hope they did not chrome the cases, etc. on this beauty. Without the recent overhauls I'd say it should be closer to $55K. Good luck. Steve

Vincents are not for the faint of heart. These bikes were made to be relatively maintenance free, but that was in the 1940s and early 50s. The quality and understated beauty of these bikes is unsurpassed. I am trying to sell my Rapide and I would not sell it to anyone that was under prepared to work on it. We only are temporary owners of these magnificent machines. These bikes can be bears if not set up correctly. The magneto should be overhauled by someone that is very familiar w/ Lucas mags, if the carbs are old just get new ones and don't bother fiddling w/ the clapped out old ones. A quick compression test and ride should tell you if the engine is toast or what. Join a local British Bike Club (no matter what make) and the VOC, of course. Today's forums and U-Tube videos are priceless. Good Luck
