Victory Kingpin 8-Ball reviews

This is my first "cruiser" style bike. I owned a sports bike eight years ago and was ready for a new one. I considered both styles of bikes for over a month. After sitting on a cruiser I decided this would be my choice. Then it came time to determine which make to go with. I knew I wanted American made but Harley's were beyond my budget (for a new one). My wife was OK with me getting a bike as long as it "worked" and lasted. My friend, a Harley rider, recommended Victory and had nothing but great things to say. I began reading and learning more about Victory and was convinced. The Vegas 8 Ball was a bit above my budget but it had exactly what I was looking for: style and power. I love my 8 Ball! Show less

I've been tracking Victory Bikes on-line and thru test rides for five years. I finally pulled the trigger in February, 2012 on a new Kingpin. Great muscle, smooth ride, it really turns heads. It's the best fit for me and the wife for combined mountain roads and highway touring. The dealership treats us like royalty. Show less

I've always been a Harley guy even though I've owned a number of other brands. I had been interested in Victory for some time based on their styling and engineering, but the High-Ball sold me on making the move. I traded in my 2001 Harley Deuce and haven't looked back. Not only is this an exciting and fun bike around town, it's very manageable on long trips as well. I took it to Tennessee a month after buying it and was completely comfortable, even without a windshield. This beast was carving out the mountain roads like they were a Thanksgiving turkey. I rarely stop anywhere that I don't get compliments on it. And if you think this is fast off the showroom floor, add a Power Commander and Autotune to the injection system and it just FLIES!!! 'It is the most comfortable ride! I could not believe how smooth and how well it handles. You will be surprised on how well balanced this bike is. It's an all-around keeper. Great looks, power, comfort, all in one. I'm very satisfied with this bike. Show less

I found my 08 Kingpin Tour at a Wisconsin dealership. I shopped online and saw deals in distant states, but finally landed one close to home. The new bike with warranty is for under 10K!! The bonus was the $1,000 in accessories for having test drove the factory bikes. I love the Kingpin's styling, balance and power. My first test drive, I was moving up the gears, just listening and then I looked at the speedo - 100mph!! - Whoops. I also appreciate employing my neighbors in Osceola, WI with the engine build, folks in Minnesota for the design and in Spirit Lake, Iowa for the final assembly. I freakin' love the bike! I bought it before seeing it in person. It was worth the wait. I like everything about it, and Victory as a whole. Thanks to Tommy & Ben in Springville and Peggy in Centerville. I wish I worked in the shop working on them, or in the factory building them. I can't get enough, I just want to hang out at the dealer all day. Show less

I went for a test ride at the Victory dealership. The person who went out with me asked me what kind of ride I wanted. I said fast and lots of twists and I got exactly what I asked for. I love the bike, it's very comfortable, light and easy to manuever and is powerful. The Victory Vision 8 Ball is a very nice ride. Overall I give it a 10. Now to sell the Harley. Show less

I just bought it a few days ago and I love this bike. I had been looking at them for a couple of years and just had this deal fall into my lap. I got the bike with no cash down in Melbourne Florida at the place was great to deal with. I traded in a Kawasaki Voyager 12 and in a round about way my Sportster 883. I have to say that this bike is so far ahead of both the Kawasaki and the Harley that there is no true comparison. On the highway it takes the grooves and bumps far better than the Voyager 12 or the Harley. The bike is smooth to run. In town it is simple to maneuver and I have no complaints. I was very surprised on its tracking and handling. With the Harley the rear end was light and always wanting to get out from under me. The brakes on this are the best as well. As for performance... WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!! This thing can move and I mean right now! Yet control is always right there. Positive tracking again is the best I have ever seen. You will not be disappointed in this bike. It is top notch all the way. I also find that is is getting around 55-58 mpg. which is another plus over the Kawasaki or the Harley which were both in the 30's at best. What more can you ask for? I just picked up the bike, and thus far, this thing rocks. It handles extremely well, and has great power. The Victory dealership is the best by far. Everyone I dealt with was great. I'm looking forward to putting miles on the bike. I just need to get a backrest so the wife can ride along, and eventually put on an exhaust. Show less

Plenty of power, head turning good looks. I test drove a few Harleys in the same price range and they didn't do it for me. Coming off a crotch rocket I needed POWER! I took a test ride on a Hammer, ended up buying the Vegas for that big 21" up front. It's a great looking bike, handles better than my Ninja. Being a part of an MC means I have to have a bike that will stand up to scrutiny and will take the miles. I got what I need. Show less
