I have stolen rides on a plethora of Harleys and Japanese twins before but the Hammer simply takes the rest of the group apart. It out-torques, out-handles, out-rides, and out-looks the competition, V-rod included. Styling really sets it apart. In a world where everyone seems to think that you have to have a bike that is so decked out and with all manner of bulbous chrome, tassels, tooled leather and rhinestones, in other words any one of the thousands of gaudy fifties rejects you see everyday, the Hammer is truly a breath of fresh air. A cruiser with simple, clean, modern lines with just a dash of retro to appeal to everyone. It looks like it's doing a 100 mph sitting on the kick stand! It always draws a lot of attention wherever I go. The stock exhaust note is beefy but not obnoxious. The torque is amazing. One part FXRS, one part Vmax/Magna, and two parts custom sled. It's won't smoke a 'Busa but it won't look like you are swimming in a school of fish either! Reliability is superb. The stock seat is firm but surprisingly comfortable, but I wouldn't try an Ironbutt Marathon on it. I would have liked to see a hydraulic clutch on it. The 2008 models now have it as an option. The Brembo brakes are exceptional. The quality of manufacture is top shelf. Truly an exceptional machine. I will be riding it for years!
