Bought my green machine May '00. Have about 7800 miles. Totally troublefree. Replaced the Bridgestones with Pirellis at 5700 miles. These are the Pirellis that the article on the Ascot in Torque magazine showed. They are 90/10 types and are V rated. Wow!! Handling really improved an the generally lousy secondary roads here in GA. Great cruiser with quite adequate power. Can keep up with about anything except sportbikes and crazy youngsters. The ride is all day comfortable. My favorite Triumph of all time was the 1969 Trident. I pretend that this is what the Trident would be today. Love that triple torque and sound. Added the Triumph mufflers, summerscreen, sissybar and rack, and chrome clutch cover. A class classic machine!

The thing I liked best about this bike is its on-of-a-kind looks. No one in my county owns a Legend. I test drove Harleys, Hondas, Kaws, and Yamahas before I decided on this bike. Nothing they put out holds a candle to my Triumph. I'll let ya know how I feel about it at 6000 miles.

I sold a Sportster 883 after only about six months and bought the Legend earlier this year. What a positive difference. While they both have essentially the same size engine, the Legend will run rings around the Sportster. At 60 miles an hour the Sportster seemed like it was about to come unglued. At 90, the Legend is as smooth as a motorcycle could possibly be. Everywhere I go, some former Triumph owner wants to stop and talk about his experiences in the 60's and 70's, which I find to be very interesting. With the exception to a recent fuse blowing problem which I have no doubt the dealer will fix under the two year warranty, I can't be any happier with the bike.

Gas prices being high, maybe a motorcycle will hedge against rising prices. Too bad Triumphs aren't around any more. Then one day I saw a new Triumph at a stoplight. When I finally hunted down a local dealer and discovered these wonderful bikes are in existence again I bought a'99 Legend marked down to make room for the 2001 models. A green British motorcycle and a Triumph to boot. Can life get any better? I've never ridden a motorcycle and I'm past mid - life. But with guidance from friends who ride and this helpful web site it's true bliss. This is a great bike, torque, torque, torque. I agree with the other reviews on this bike. It could use that sixth gear but I know what to do about that. Fast, easy to ride, and so classic in appearance. I grew up dreaming of the day when I might own a Triumph. Be careful what you dream for it might come true. Thanks Triumph for a great come back.

Very smooth and good torque from 40 to 90 mph. The negatives -- needs a 6th gear, and top end is barely over 100, although it is very stable at 100, handles like a sport bike . Have had some probs with fasteners vibrating out. Lost an end cap and all my silencer support bolts. Service manager at the dealership replaced them at no cost , but it is a bit of an inconvenience. Overall satisfied. Service mgr. recommends a rear sprocket with 2 less teeth to lower the rpms at upper end.

The previous owner put on a summer screen and center stand. So far it's been even better than I expected. The acceleration is smooth. 4th gear has a wide spread but there's still a ton of power waiting for you in 5th. People are knocked out by its looks too, which is a nice plus. I give Triumph a lot of credit for making a bike that is classic-looking, performs great, but doesn't have a whiff of trendiness.

This a basic, yet unique roadster with all the right features. The engine is quiet, with a distinct cadence all its own. The best features of this baby are its classic style, excellent braking, perfect balance, and incredible handling. This puppy is smooth, too. Also, since they are not very popular right now, you might be able to steal a last year's model from your local dealer. What keeps this bike from being a 5-star? Well, for one, the oil has to be checked with the bike upright, but the bike does not come with a centerstand in stock form. It is available as an option, however. It's chain drive, which some people would rather not deal with. However, it is an X-ring chain, which is better than a standard or O-ring chain. Also, it would be nice if the tranny was a 6-spd, but the 5-spd its got is very good. Lastly, some people would like a bit more shine, as opposed to the blacked out engine of the Legend. This problem is simply remedied, buy a Thunderbird instead. The Thunderbird is basically the same bike, but snazzier. Snazzy will cost you extra, though

It has plenty of power, handles well in town and on the highway. I did get a windshield which is a must at anything over 60 mph. I have averaged 43 mpg in town. The only downs are the current sound is pretty mild but can be fixed with new mufflers. Also I have found Triumph parts to cost 2 to 3 times what similar parts on other bikes would cost such as $300 for a sissy bar, $200 for a center stand, and $325 for engine guards. It is still worth it to ride something a little different.

As soon as I saw it at the Triumph dealer I had to have it. It's the same as the 2001 model and is in as good condition as a new one... plus it's already been broken in and had it's first service. The ride on the Triumph Legend TT is smooth and the engine provides great acceleration with little or no vibration. It's an exhilarating ride. It's easy to handle and very comfortable (I'm 5'8"/165lbs). It's easy to handle around curves, and the miles go by quickly. The acceleration from 50 to 80 is impressive. It's a good looker too (mine's Cardinal Red). I've already had several comments and offers. There are plenty of options available, so it's easy to customize. I like it especially because it has it's own character. It's not just another Japanese rip-off of a Harley Davidson in sound or appearance. It's a bike that makes it's own statement.
