Suzuki stopped production on the TLR in '03. It's a shame because this bike offers so much. Motorcycle manufactures are mainly interested in building smaller, lighter, and quicker bikes. The TL1000R offers more room, comfortable ride, and V-twin torque that the Liter bikes are all missing. The TLR is the best of all worlds. It's a sport touring bike, race bike, sport bike, and it's real fun to ride. It looks like a GSXR on steroids.

All I can say is V-Twin. After starting on a 600 Katana, then riding a GSX-R 750 and the Hayabusa, this bike really did it for me. Perfect fit for a 6'4" guy like myself. I still have the stock pipes but I'm think about the Yoshimura pipes. I have the yellow/blk. This bike is still an eye catcher. And by the way, I'm glad I have to 2003 model since that's the last year they'll be made. I got mine just in time.

Intmidating?well If you think you're Matt Maladen or Ben Bostrom you're going to kill yourself. If you you drive smart and stay out of the rev's I've found it to be a dream to ride. Besides, track days and leathers are for the pipe dreams. Not the streets!Do I Love it? H _ _ _ YEAH! It handles like it's on rails. The brakes are incredible and the sound and torque are only as a V-twin can be. This bike is simply incredible. Is it for everyone? No. But as for me, I wouldn't have it any other way. :o)

I love the mid range power on this bike. don't let the critics fool you. This bike has a top end speed from hell if you know how to ride it. If you add the full yoshimura exhaust system and a powercommander, you will be amazed at what you have on two wheels. The sound of a V-twin is a head turner!

I was looking at buying another bike and was torn between the GSX-R1000 and the TL1000R. Ultimately, I ended up buying the "classic blue/white" TL1000R and what an awesome decision it was. This bike is pure, raw v-twin power. I already need my 600 mile maintenance after only 1 week as I did 500 miles over the weekend. Despite it's size it's very manageable in the corners, etc. Smooth shifting, and overall riding is superb. The only problem is riding around in first gear as it can get kinda jumpy with the fuel injection, but I'm putting on a after-market device that should rid that. I get nothing but compliments on this bike and it's nice having a "rare" bike as you truly don't see many of these around.

Lets be honest, the TLR at first glance is quite an eye opener, styling, size and the engineering all come to mind. I bought mine 2 years ago and tweeked this and that to get a better setup within the first couple of months, yes it transformed the bikes character but then i took her shopping on $1500. Ohlins rear shock to start was a massive improvement, Sprint steering damper, Gilles rearsets, Quill T3`s, airbox mod, K&N filter, TRE plugin, braided hoses, double bubble, slight re-map and a pair of the latest amazing Bridgestone BT012SS hoops among a few other bits & setups. I service all the bike myself and rebuild the forks with fresh oil every 6 months to keep that smooth handling. What i have now is a bike that will go where shes aimed at, easily fast enough to outrun RSV and 998 equivelants as proven and yet the durability and comphort to tour europe on twice a year. Any proud owner will tell you time and time again how much they love em, i suppose we are a cult as some say but theres nothing to better this bike in my eyes at the moment, and its a damned shame the typical lousy British press didn't have anything better at the time to try and insult. Now production has ceased the press now scream to "go and buy one if you can find one, top bike for for your money!" That says it all.
