I just bought one of these and absolutely love it. It was a pretty cheap bike and goes like hell. Once you get use to the way it rides, it does pretty much everything you ask it to do. It's great for running around town, but if I was going on a long trip, I'd much rather take my cruiser. It's kind of tough on the body, but performance comes at a cost. If you don't want to spend a bunch of money on a bigger bike, go with this one, it's worth the money.

I gave a 4 for performance, because while it is wicked fast, and way more than I need, in comparison to the other 600cc bikes offered by Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki, it is the slower of the bunch. But, yet again, it is way more than I need. I gave a 4 for comfort, because your arms get tired leaning over the bike, but eventually you get used to it. Then 5 stars for quality, because it is the cheapest of the 600cc bikes, yet it looks just as good and is one heck of a ride. I definitely recommend this bike.

It has lots of power all through the rpm range. The rider position is a little more agressive than I anticipated, so keep that in mind if considering the bike. The mirrors do not stick out far enough as my shoulders block them both. The digital speedo is great, but its placement is too low. My full face helmet blocks it and I have to put my head down to read it. Aside from those minor negatives, this bike is a must check out for beginner and experienced riders alike. Ride it and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I love the looks and the power is just right. My last bike was an 83 Interceptor I had through 86. This bike has more power, handles better and seems to be a good bike to get back into riding again. I will update as I get more mileas and see what happens.

I have had my 2007 SV650S for a couple of months and figured I would write up a review. Chances are, if you're reading this, you are looking to buy a SV650S. It's great, it is a sporty bike with more than enough stank to get you a ticket, dead, or send your front wheel skyward. One thing to take into consideration is COMFORT, if you're at all concerned with it, get the standard and not the S. You could take this as me being a sissy but I am 22 years old and in pretty good shape and this bike beats me if I ride it for more than a few hours. I guess a set of aftermarket bars and a seat will go along way but that's pushing $800 or more. Over all it is a great bike and I am happy to own it.

Once you get one you will wonder why did I ever wait so long. A lot of people think that the sv is just a beginner bike. Maybe so, It was my first bike after all. Having put 19000k on the bike now over 2 seasons I can say I am no beginner anymore. First of all, the main reason I bought this bike was because Everyone was telling me about all the great reviews and cheaper Insurance costs. Not to mention 3000$ less than the Gsxr 600. How could I say no! The sv is a great handling bike and leans into the corners with very little effort. The throttle is very responsive in all rpm ranges. The power emmited from this bike is brute force. The bike pulls hard. As wild as this bike can be it can be tamed very easily. Release the throttle and the engine brakes come into play. Blip the throttle to match the rpms and you'll find that the brakes don't have to be used much at all. You will also be rewarded by that mean sound that exits the exhaust and at that moment all eyes will be on you. The Yosh slip on really makes the bike. Every thing about this bike just feels very natural. The tank is molded perfectly for the knees to hug and also doubles as a chest rest for those long boring straight aways. The seat is comfortable for long rides. The handle bars are the perfect mix for Casual/ aggresive behaviour. In my opinion this bike does it all.

I can absolutely say I love this bike, got it brand new in 2005 and put 7000 + miles on it already. Never driven any inline 4 bikes but I am really satisfied with the power the bike has. It wheelies no problem 1st or 2nd gear and is awesome in the twisties. I'm so curious as to how it will perform and sound once I get it back from the shop after the upgrades. I think after the performance upgrades I will do the lower fairing. If anyone has already had a K&N, power commander, and freer flowing exhaust or similiar performance upgrades I'm dying to know if you got a noticeable amount of more power and snap out of it. e-mail if youd like to share dblockwillo@yahoo.com

I had not owned a bike in seven years. I've owned many GSXR's and Katanas. When I decided that I was ready for another motorcycle, jumping on a super-agressive sportbike was not an option. After considering many bikes and talking to literally dozens of people, the SV650S came out on top. I must say that I truly love this machine. Getting used to a V-Twin is somewhat of a challenge, but the benefits are worth it. The powerband is amazing. It is lacking power in some situations, but overall it does a good job. I think the SV is hands down the best bike for the money. It is also a really fun bike to ride while getting my chops back. I was going to get used to this bike and then go back to riding a GSXR, but that might not be necessary. It is just too much fun to ride!
