Simple and classy. I love it!

I simply love this bike!!! I'm just a starter rider so I, as would a lot of people out there, was looking for a good, big bike. At first I wanted an 800cc bike because everyone was telling me that I would out-grow this small bike and would want a bigger one soon. They may be right, but when I got on the C50T, it was just a little to much for me. The C50T is an affordable bike, but what felt comfortable the most was this S40--it's just right for me! It's got enough power for around town and to take me on the highway every now and then. It's got more than enough acceleration for a beginner like me and looks cool too! If you're a beginner rider, get this one. It's a great bike to start getting into the cruiser line and will not disappoint.

The S40 is great for a first bike. It is light enough to handle easily on back roads, but not heavy enough for four lane highways at speeds of 65+ mph. As for the backfire that everyone else has talked about, mine seems to do it when it gets below 30 degrees. Again, this is a great first... read more

The seat is a little hard for long trips, but I plan on getting a Gel seat soon. People keep telling me I will want to upgrade to a bigger bike soon... I don't think so... the S40 is perfect. it has a small back firing problem, but I kind of like it. It is fixable by adjusting the air fuel mixture I've been told.

If you're looking for a highway cruiser, don't look here. This bike is nice and light and therefore not intended for heavy freeway use. However, in my humble opinion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Nice and light means a delight to maneuver. It is great around town. And although you may not want to think about this, if you ever drop it you'll be able to pick it up with ease. Furthermore, the low seat height is a pleasure for those of us who are of the vertically challenged sort. I have read reviews by taller men and they are mixed. But as far as short men and women are concerned, the S40 is a dream come true. Great looks, plenty of power and a great price. There are 400cc scooters out there selling for twice as much! Starts right up every time and is nice and quiet. Note: Lots of people buy aftermarket pipes to get that Harley sound, if that's what you want. As far as the downsides are concerned, the stock mirrors stink and can easily be upgraded. There is no gas gauge which is a bit of a bummer. It does occasionally backfire, but not often. The front brakes squeak but supposedly that will go away after a few thousand miles. After all is said and done (and this is not my first bike) I am thoroughly enjoying my Boulevard S40!

This bike handles well is compact enough to give any new rider the confidence they need to enjoy riding. In the last 4 months I have put 5,000 km on her. I would recommend this bike for any beginner rider especially the ladies - I can hold my own with any of those old Harley riders. ha ha ha

I am getting back into riding after 27 years as a passenger. Had a terrible scare as a rider back in the 70's...became a passenger. Now, a grandma and wanting to RIDE again....I took the motorcycle course, RIDER's EDGE offered by a local Harley dealer and earned my endorsement (again). I am short and need a bike where I can gain back my riding confidence. I looked and looked. Finally, I decided that Suzuki's S40 at 352 lbs, 650cc, was the right bike for me. I rode it for the first time this past weekend and realized that I have missed 27 years of riding because of 1 'near' accident. Now that I know how to ride safely, I have the techniques and riding skills to help me out of a jam.... The S40 handles GREAT! Turns well, stops on a dime and has 'get up and go' when you need it! I would certainly recommend this bike to all women who want to 'get into' or 'get BACK into' riding again! I rate it a PERFECT 5 points!

With the price tag coming in for me at just over 4200 for the bike ( 4475 with 2 skid lids and engine case guards + tax) it was deffinately the best value in the bunch that I looked at. Great overall bike in ever possible way.

After extensive looking around and comparing I kept coming back to the S40, I was a little apprehensive because of the size of the bike, not the power. I'm glad I picked the S40 being a smaller rider, it is nice to have a bike that is going to overpower me with weight, not too mention my dad has a V-star 650. I will get it someday. The S40 is great, more than enough power, acacelerates very nicely, has enough torque and zip to get you out of any situation. The best thing is it is very manueverable, with out worries of getting into major trouble. It does pop once in a while but that is ok scares birds away lol all joking aside, the S40 is a great motorcycle and in no way should be considered a starter motorcycle, it is a great bike to get back into motorcycling, without sacrificing power or features, it would be nice if there were more after market parts, but that's why the came up with the term chopper, already working to fashion some parts, will keep this motorcycle for many years to come, not too mention the Price point with accesories I paid 4350.00not bad for a new motorcycle w/plenty of power, if you are thinking of buying, don't hesitate you won't be sorry.
