I bought her used expecting to have to put a lot of money in her. I couldn't have been more wrong. I've rode her like I stole her every time I've been out, all times of the year - cold to hot and low to high altitudes. Never has this bike let me down. I've got a 1996 RM 250 and 2001 RM250. I made the switch from a heavily modified two stroke to the Suzuki RMZ. The RMZ is much easier to ride faster though it takes a while to really learn how to take advantage of the power and its characteristics. No trouble starting, cold or hot. The handling is awesome. I can dive into corners the same as my 250 two-stroke but pull out of them much harder and faster... this thing just hooks up and goes, better be able to hang on! Only mod is a PC pipe. don't believe the crap about the other makes having more power. I've ridden the Honda and Yamaha back to back on the same track... I would still take my Suzuki any day. Suspension is great bone stock, just take the time to set it for your ability and keep good fluid in there. I would not change a thing!

I have a RM 125 and a YZ 125 and I'll tell you the RM is like the YZ - if you have a sand pit take it there. Just lean ahead a lot! We raced up the road, the YZ won but the RM was right there like at the back tire if you come on to her she'll lift don't worry. It's very fast they're both not... read more

It's very fast they're both not beginner bikes the RM is so fast it will hit 80mph; the YZ: 85mph.

Over all this is a great bike for a relatively, inexperienced rider!! It has great power, and quick response. The bikes suspension works good but bottoms out a little more than I like. Also it could use just a little more power on the bottom end. Other than that it is great!! I love... read more

RMZ 250 IS A GREAT NOVICE BIKE STOCK! IT TURNS EASY AND JUMPS LIGHT. THE FOUR STROKE POWER HOOKS UP BETTER THAN A TWO STROKE AND IS AN EASIER BIKE TO RIDE AND RACE THAN A TWO STROKE. THE FOUR STROKES REQUIRE MORE MAINTENANCE, BUT THAT IS A FAIR TRADE FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FOUR... read more

Needless to say this was my first bike ever. Yes my first bike was a 250. It's so fast I can't believe it. I was at the dunes on spring break and I beat a KFX 700, the fastest quad on the market through the dunes and I wasn't really even trying. Plus I had a half way gone paddle. I was at the dunes on spring break and I beat a KFX 700, the fastest quad on the market through the dunes and I wasn't really even trying. Plus I had a half way gone paddle. The guy had all kind of advantages on me and I still won. WOW! If you ever consider this bike I'd say get a newer one if you can afford it. Not because this one sucks, it dosen't... it's awesome, but because this year is an odd year for Suzuki with this bike. It stands on its own on some parts and parts for this bike can be a pain especially aftermarket graphics. But all in all this bike rocks! It's my baby.

This bike hits hard, does what you want it to, and most importantly it always stays in front of the pack. As fas as reliability, I still have the 5 year old factory spark plug in it. There's no reason to change a good thing. I was never a Suzuki guy until I owned one. Best choice I ever... read more
