I purchased this bike used a few years ago. It's been a great bike. I have ridden in all kinds of weather conditions, and have ridden both short trips and long ones (700 plus miles). The bike is very torquey and has plenty of power. I love the power since I often take my daughter with me on rides. The seat for the rider is pretty comfortable but I have been considering a Mustang seat to increase my daughter's comfort. This particular year model is a four speed, so it is a little short legged. It has plenty of oomph on the highway but is cranking some rpms at highway speeds. The newer one have five speeds. The bike handles great for a cruiser. I am somewhat turned off by the way most cruisers today think heavier is better. I rode my friend's VTX 1800 and it was like driving a truck, just not that fun. However, my 1400 had good lean angle and is light by 1400 standards so it feels very nimble. I also have a 600 Yamaha in case I am feeling a little more sporty.

Alas, I have traded in my cruiser for a Hayabusa. But I rode my Intruder for 2 wonderful years and never had a complaint. I would've kept it and got the Hayabusa, but a little voice told me no. (That voice was my wife's.) I went on a 4 day tour with it and loved every second. I was completely comfortable the entire trip. I was getting 45 mpg throughout no matter what altitude. The Harley riders were getting a little tender in their hindquarters by the end of the day, but I never did. The stock saddle is amazing and I had no problem keeping up, actually, leading the other cruisers. Plenty of power and awesome reliability. If you are looking for a cruiser, this is it. I'll miss mine.

Added pipes and windshield, and have the resulting jet-issues as a result of the new pipes. Jet change will fix this. However, my big issue is the seemingly high RPM on the freeway; 70 mph sounds like I am red-lined. No tach is really a bummer.

The styling is fantastic, I've even had die hard Harley guys tell me "that's a heck of a nice bike". The response and the bikes handling makes you want to ride forever. I've gone on a 3 hour trip, and my only complaint is that I need a little more padding in the seat. A gel cover will fix that. I love riding my new bike.

I kept up with the hogs even the ones with performance upgrades not bad for $6,300 able to stay with the crowd of 15k plus bikes. Still looking to put some Hard Krome 3" Staggered Straights on her to give her a little grunt. But as always still the Best Bang for the BUCK.

The silver and chrome look awesome together...especially with exhaust going down both sides. I tried some Cobra slip ons which sounded good, but ended up cutting the baffles out of the stock mufflers and put them back on. What a great sound! Adding a wide highway bar with pegs. Harley's may be the popular choice, but I'll take this bike over similar Harley's any day. Much smoother shifting, etc.

I picked 45-55mph back roads through Idaho , Oregon and washington state. This is what this bike is made for. freeway speeds are un-fun on this bike for me. But I had a blast. The bike handles well..has low vibration at 45-60 and was relativley comfortable for an old dude. Great Bike!
