Suzuki GS500F reviews

I wanted a small bike but refused to get a 250 because I knew once I got comfortable I would want more power. This is a great bike for any starter, and nice for me because I am only 5 foot and it's not too high off the ground. It also isn't very heavy at all which also helps because I only weigh 100 pounds. Has enough power where you don't feel like a sissy but not enough to scare you! I would recommend this bike to any new rider because it is comfortable all the way around! Show less

This is my first bike and I have had it for about 1 year now. I would not change my choice for the world; this is a very nice riding bike and a very reliable bike. It lacks a little comfort for long rides(1 hour or more) until you get used to it, and it lacks a little upper RPM performance for acceleration but I love this bike. Given the choice, I would start with this bike again. It handles like a dream and corners like any sportbike should. Very highly recommended! Show less

I've been riding for a month and a half now. The GS-500F was my first bike and still is. It's very swift and good on gas and looks nice. I recommend this bike to anybody looking for their first sports bike. Show less

I just started riding and bought this as my first bike. It's very forgiving and is very fun to ride! I've owned it for one month and my wife wants it! She took the class and I get to get a bigger bike. The only downside I can think of is the reduced power when riding with a passenger. There's no options on the market for this bike either. Overall a good reliable buy. Show less

I have had mine for about two months, and I have been riding the tires off of it. It is reliable, quick, looks great, inexpensive to maintain and gets great gas mileage (59-75 MPG aggressive city riding and highway riding.) Handles better than anything else I have ever ridden. Show less

My '04 GS500f is my first motorcycle, and I just got it this year. What makes it such a great starter bike is the fact that it's fast enough that you can keep up with your buddies, yet tame enough that you won't kill yourself on it. A great all-around bike. Show less

I bought this biike because I just couldn't afford the insurance on a gixxer and I'm glad I did. It handles well and has good "beginner" power. I've hit 114 and it takes it like a champ. Overall good bike and an excellent starter bike. My only real complaint is a lack of accessories and the uncomforable seat on long trips. Show less

Easiest motorcycle to control in my opinion, keeps up with the R6 on turning, and agility. Lack of power however some throttle lag. Mine has flooded twice since I've had it, however other than that I've had no problems and I'm extremely happy with it. Show less

After reading other reviews, I have to give you my opinion. For new riders or riders that feel comfortable on smaller bikes, this is the bike for you. It has to be one of the easiest bikes to ride. It shifts smooth, is for the most part a comfortable ride, plus it looks like any other street bike on the road. don't be fooled by what other people say about performance either. So far I got 600 miles on my new bike, I love riding it, and I already topped out @ 115mph. I can even keep up with my friends' bikes (Suzuki SV1000, Honda CBR 929,etc...). So if you hear people putting this bike down, just ignore them because for $5000 you ain't gonna find another new bike like this. Show less
