Kawasaki Ninja ZZ-R1200 reviews

I sold my EX500 Ninja and bought one of these. It looks better and it handles about the same. It has more power. To me, sport riding is all about handling, not about rocket-like acceleration. If you want a drag racer, get a V-Max. Oh yeah, it's comfortable too. I have ridden a GSXR750 and a ZX6R Ninja. In a straight line, they will blow this bike away. But they don't handle any better, if as well. I have ridden all day on this, about an hour was my max on a hardcore sportbike, and by that time I was hurting all over. This is a "real world" sportbike, not a roadracer with lights. Oh, and one more plus. The price and the insurance are a lot less than a hardcore sportbike. Unless you really are a roadracer and ride on the track, I don't see how you could possibly go wrong with this bike. Show less

I have a 2006 Black ZX14 and love it. I have attached a trailer to her and she pulls it with no effort. It has not only Preload, but dampening adjustments to control the load. The only concern I have is that the bike is so light I have to be careful in the rain. The only real improvement I had to make to make it an all-day ride was to change the seat to a Concours 14 seat. It just bolts right on with a minor change to the latch. I also raised the handlebars almost two inches due to my height. Show less

I purchased my Diablo Black metallic 2007 Kawasaki ZX-14 with 12.3K miles on it in Peoria, AZ about 2 weeks ago. I am back on a sportbike after being a Harley enthusiast for the past 15 years. The last sportbike I'd owned prior to purchasing this one was a 1991 Kawasaki ZX-10 while stationed in Holland in the military. In 1991, the last year the ZX-10 was produced in that original form, it was the world's fastest production streetbike with a top speed of 165 mph. My, have times changed! I rode my new toy over 3 hours back home after purchase. I fell in love immediately! The bike has loads of power, but yet, is very smooth on delivery. It's easy to flick around in heavy traffic or with slow speed parking lot manuevers. I admit that I've always been more of a Kawasaki fan, but have owned all brands. This bike has the comfort, looks, and performance that I was looking for this time around. This past Sunday, I rode 125 miles through the desert mountains with four other friends. I must say...I am even more impressed now. The bike does not feel big or heavy while riding the twisties. It does everything effortless! I am going to add some Corbin Beetle Bags, raise the bars a bit, and change the peg position to make this an even more capable mile eater. Ride on, Kawasaki! This was my first street bike and I have no major complaints. There's plenty of power when needed enough to get into trouble. The color and performance add to the thrill of the ride. My only complaint is that the bike doesnt show you what gear you are in. Besides that, no regrets. I'm actually going in tomorrow to buy another street bike for the wife. Show less

This bike is great for someone just starting out - and even if you've been riding for many years, this little charmer will leave you with a smile on your face. I traded in a red 250R to this dealer last year (very well could be my old bike) and all I have to say is that I will be buying one of these again for my wife when she starts to ride, if I ever let her ride the 250R. I just got into riding, and I did a lot of research on which bike to start on, and the most popular choice was the Ninja 250R. I've put over 800 miles on mine so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I would recommend this bike to anyone who is looking to get into riding. Show less

My son and I bought two of these and are very happy. They handle superb, have more than adequate power and are a blast to ride. They are light weight and I can't believe the brakes on these... unbeatable braking! If the weather is dry, we are riding! Show less

I seriously recommend upgrading the stock rubber. I put on Michelin Road-2 110/70/17 front and 150/70/17 rear and the difference is major. The stock Dunlops were cheap anyway (to keep low msrp) so any better tires will help. I did no mods whatsoever and the increase in stopping performance alone is worth it. I get better grip especially accelerating and decelerating in turns and it is much more stable at highway speeds. Now, I look forward to long trips. Show less

My son bought this bike as his first. But I think I ride it more than he does. This is a great bike for the money. I enjoy riding it to work, and it is easy on gas. It's nice for the 25-mile trip. Show less

I've been riding bikes since I was 18, now I'm 27 and this bike really got me. It has great turns, amazing top speed (181 mph) and no wheelie when you put all the power (I love that for my own security). It breaks like crazy. I love the design (ZX-6R Special Edition Ebony). I just love it. I would change my seat, after a while you can feel it. I forgot - love the 20,000 RPM!!! Show less
