I purchased this motorcycle last year and it has a few issues with it because the owner had it sitting in the garage for a really long time. Once I cleaned the carbs, replaced the chain, and put some new tires on it, it proved to be very reliable and stable in corners and in a straight line. I even had one of the pilot jets fall out while I was riding and it only idled high allowing me to get home. It's very easy to work on and even easier to find parts for given it is a 1993 model. It has nice features like not having to remove the forks to change the oil. There is a drain at the botton of the fork tube so you can do everything in the driveway with the aid of a couple of stands. The stock seat is very comfortable and the only complaint I have is that it pushes you into the tank because of the slope. The head lamp gives really good visibility at night in low and high beam. The clutch releases very well and the brakes are very powerful. This motorcycle was made in an era when motorcycles were made to have better features than the competition rather than a lighter weight. If you have a chance to get one, just look at the gas tank because they are metal and may have some rust through. There is no fuel pump so less stuff to fail on a long ride. Show less

I owned this bike and it was great. I used it to ease back into riding/racing and traded this one in for the ZX10R here. I had this bike for approximately one year. It has great handling and throttle response, the corner handling was superb at high speeds but a little slow out of the turn for me. It could be user error but I doubt it. It is a user friendly bike and I reccomend it for new riders as well as women who like to ride. Show less

I'm still in the break in period so I have to give this bike a "5" on everything. I used to ride a GSXR 750, but hadn't ridden in a while until I got the 650R a couple of weeks ago. Ergos are perfect for me. It's been running smooth and flawless the few times I've been able to get out (still a little cold here). Overall it's a great bike I would recommend to anyone. Show less

I picked up this bike used with 6,800 miles on it, and it's probably the most fun I've ever had on the open road. There are definitely more powerful bikes out there, but this thing accelerates fast enough to get you in trouble in a heart beat, and when you're on the highway in top gear, it's not even turning half its RPM range. If you're looking to upgrade from a 250, or even if you're a responsible rider looking for a first bike, this one is predictable and easy to ride quick. Show less

I have been in the motorcycle industry for 22 years and I like all kinds of motorcycles. My 2009 (same as 2010 and 2011) ZX6R Ninja is the best bike I have ever owned. It is more than fast enough for street riding, handles great stops great, looks great and has not had a single hiccup since I bought it. Every time I ride it, I ride at least 100 miles. In my opinion it's the best 600cc motorcycle on the market today. Oh, and most of the magazines agree with me! Show less

I bought it for commuting since gas is $3.50 and climbing. My BMW K1200RS only gets 40 mpg. but this thing gets 65-70, WOW! The engine revs very high so I put a 15t front and a 41t rear sprocket on and it's a dream on the freeway now. I should say the seat is not too comfy and will be upgrading it soon. Overall, I am truly impressed with it and would recommend it to anyone. By the way, I have been an avid rider for many years and it is fun for the beginner or expert. Kudos Kawasaki!! Show less

Hello everyone. Let me start this review by saying I am not a new rider. I have been riding bikes for the past 20-25 years, and owned several bikes in that time. That being said, I think this is a great bike. I wanted something that was sporty looking, reliable, and cheap on gas. that's what I got with my Ninja 250R SE. It has pretty good acceleration. I ride this bike everyday. this is my daily transportation to work, the store, or anywhere I need to go. My car hardly ever gets driven any more. If you drive it normal, you should get 55-65 mpg., depending on rider weight, wind conditions, speed and driving style. This really is a great bike. if you are looking for a daily driver, or a commuter, or even a second bike for around town, you can't go wrong with this bike. It's a pretty comfortable bike stock, but I made mine even more comfy with some 2" rear lowering links, 1" handlebar riser blocks, and a sport touring windscreen. This is probably the most fun bike I have had in a long time. I got this bike six months ago, and don't plan to get rid of it. Great bike, great price, what else do you need? Show less

I have been riding off road for 25 years, have owned three 600cc sport bikes and have ridden many other types of sport bikes. I am fairly knowledgeable about motorcycles. The ZX14 is a great "do everything" motorcycle. The seating position is the perfect combination of sport and comfort. 300-mile sport rides are no problem on this bike. Also, my wife finds the passanger seat to be quite comfortable. The bike is very sport capable as well. The bike is big and heavy, but it carries its weight very well. The suspension is great and the frame flex is not noticable while sport riding on the street. I have never had a problem with cornering clearance. The brakes are great. The power is very linear and smooth. Shifting is just a bit notchy, and the seat is just a bit hard. The head light is weak on the low beam, but great with the high beam on. The bike does run a bit hot in traffic, but nothing crazy. Heat coming off the engine is not a problem. The only aftermarket items that I would reccomend are a Muzzy radiator fan to cool the temperature a bit more quickly and an improved headlight bulb. The ZX14 is like a rocket powered Cadillac with upgraded suspension. Overall, I am very happy with this bike. Knowing what I now know - I would purchase this bike again. Show less
