Kawasaki KX 250 reviews

I got this bike with less than 20 hrs. It is way faster than my 94. It was scary to ride at first but after riding it about 2 months and losing 50 lbs., I feel I can control it. It takes one heck of a kick to start the motor but it screams once it fires. It is too tall for me to kick start with out leaning on something most of the time but every once in a while it fires up leaning the bike with half a kick. I got this bike from a shop a copuple months again and I love it. It's got a great low end power and awesome mid and high power. The first week I had this bike my yard was torn to pieces. Ruts everywhere. I wanted a motocross bike so I can learn how to ride tracks so when I turn 18 I can start and take off. My dad won't let me race yet but this bike would make a killer motocross bike. This bike is amazing. As soon as you turn the throttle you know you are sitting on a beast. It can take everything you can dish out, and ask for more. Very reliable, never has even fouled out a plug. Performance is top notch. Comfort, well it's a motocross bike, what do you expect. Great bike I love it. Show less

I just got a 99 KX250 and it is absolutely perfect. I have a 2-acre motocross track in my back yard and man it rips it up! The power band is perfect. The power is perfect period. The suspension is flawless even when I am off target. The brakes are a bit lacking but that is because they are about used up. Once replaced I expect that will change. I use a 12, 13, and 14-tooth front sprocket for desert and for different tracks. I can't wait to get it race ready. It won't need much! Show less

This bike has lasted me a little bit. I've had it for a few years; it's a great bike for beginners. It was my first bike and it lasts with no major problems. It's great for trails and awesome for wide open areas. It's a fast bike with good handling and great performance. If you're a young beginner, get this or the KX85, there's not much of a difference. This bike is great. It is very, very fast. This bike is not only great for motocross, but has great low end torque making it outstanding for trails. The only thing that I dislike after about 50 Hours on it would be fouling the spark plugs. The best way to avoid this is to clean it out within the first min. of running it. To do this just start out and put it in 2nd or 3rd gear and give it a lot of gas until the exhaust goes high pitched. Show less

I got my kx 85 on christmas day of 2003. My last bike was a xr 80. The kx was so much faster and more reliable than my xr. The bottom end was more than perfect, but the top end could be a bit better. Other than that, the kx 85 is a great starter bike or a racing bike. Believe me, it can really take a beating! The only problem I had was my crank sealing broke! that sucked. Show less

This bike is awesome for motocross and trail riding. It has the smoothest powerband I have ever seen. It holds its own on the track against those thumpers. It is for sure the best bike I have ridden, 2 or 4 stroke. Show less

I bought this bike in May used off a guy who raced it. This bike performs very well, it's easy to handle and it has great low end. Very quick off the start, the suspension is great too. It's not the most comfortable bike I have owned but that doesnt matter. I think if you want a race bike this is the one to have. Also for trails. I love it!! Show less

This bike is probably the sickest bike I have ever owned. It pulls hard out of the corners and has unbelievable speed and acceleration. The high end speed is ok but the low and middle end is so good it's hard to keep the front end on this thing down. I race at Southwick, MA and at Rocky Hill, CT and this baby rocks. I'd recomend Kawasaki's over any bike. This bike is way better than my Honda Cr125 and my old Suzuki Rm125. BUY THIS BIKE!!!!! Show less
