I was trying to review a 98 but it wouldn't let me go that far so i put it under the 99 which is essentially a slightly detuned 98. All I can say is this motor absolutely ROCKS!! The 1st time I rode it, I was smiling from ear to ear at the gobs of power it has. The downside to that is that it can wear you out on the track quick if you're not in shape! Suspension once dialed in was good, turned good, rocket out of the pocket, and felt light in the air. Funnest bike I've ever owned...

This bike is by far the best bike made in 2000. I personally made some mods to mine (exhaust, black plastics, other cosmetics) but even stock the bike was amazing. It was plenty of bike for me when I first got it. I've rode my friends 06 CRF 250 and I'd take a 2-stroke over that thing any... read more

I have had some trouble with the carb clogging up, but you'll have that, I just ran some carb cleaner through it, cleans right up. And I have run into countless trees with it, no major damage. I have had to do no major work to it, just change the oil and all. I even jump it all the time, and it handles that well, because it is not a jumping bike. I live out in the country, so I have all kinds of terrain out here, it takes to them all quite nicely too.

My dad got me a 2003 KX100 last year for my b-day. I am pleased with it. I don't think they could have made it any better. It has awesome acceleration with a respectable top speed. I can't move my foot fast enough to shift and I get scared going around the track sometimes when I hit 5th. I had my grandpa run beside me with his van and he said 3rd will do 45mph and 6th will do 65mph. And she wheelies easily (look at the picture(resolution isn't that good)).

It takes one heck of a kick to start the motor but it screams once it fires. It is too tall for me to kick start with out leaning on something most of the time but every once in a while it fires up leaning the bike with half a kick. The best bike I've had so far but am looking at a 2006.

This bike has been my sole means of transportation for the past three years. It keeps up with traffic in the city (even though I'm usually maxing the engine out) and has never needed to be serviced, save the rear brake recall a couple years back. The longest trip that I make (a few times a year back home) is about 68 miles at a steady 55-60 mph. It takes an hour and a half, and my legs don't really start to burn until the last half hour. She's survived this trip numerous times, and I plan to make many more with her. It'll scream at high rpms, but get used to it if you plan on relying on it. I love this bike and plan to keep it even after I finally break down and buy a practical vehicle.

This bike keeps getting better and better as I break it in. Faster and smoother, she'll zip up to 60 no problem. I've had it going 72 downhill once. I can push 65 out of it but she's screaming pretty good then. I wanted 2 wheels for economy, came real close to getting a Vino 125 scooter, but saw this... read more

I can push 65 out of it but she's screaming pretty good then. I wanted 2 wheels for economy, came real close to getting a Vino 125 scooter, but saw this for about a hundred more, and who could resist? I am so glad I made this choice,I've been putting almost a hundred miles a day on her, just pure fun.

This bike is amazing. As soon as you turn the throttle you know you are sitting on a beast. It can take everything you can dish out, and ask for more.
