Purchased new in 2000. Original owner.
This 2000 Indian Chief motorcycle in cream and black is a stunning and classic bike with a retro design. It featured a timeless color scheme of cream and black, giving it a vintage and sophisticated look. The cream-colored bodywork was complemented by black accents and detailing, creating a striking contrast. The chrome finishes added to the bike's luxurious appeal, while the classic Indian Chief logo on the fuel tank added a touch of heritage and tradition.
Riding on wide white-wall tires, this Indian Chief exuded elegance and style on the road. The powerful engine, comfortable seating, and smooth handling made it a pleasure to ride, whether cruising through city streets or hitting the open highway. Overall, this 2000 Indian Chief motorcycle in cream and black was a beautiful and iconic machine that captured the essence of classic American motorcycle design.

I have a 2014 Indian Chieftain that I bought from a dealer and thought I bought a good motorcycle, boy was IWRONG!! At 40,000 miles the engine had internal failure which caused loss of compression. The shop I carried it to is where I bought it from used. As engine was torn down a terrible smell came out as well as the entire shop said they had never seen anything like this before. After sending tithe initial report to Indian, additional information was requested by Indian. Indian claims NO responsibility for failure. This was supposed to be a retirement enjoyment after 36 years in the army. Indian customer service will not give information so I can take complaint higher.

Just got this beautiful bike and the shop that customized it can’t seem to fix the front brake they are telling me that’s just an Indian I can’t believe everyone with a bike like this is running with no front brake. Has anyone had this issue and if you what is the fix. The back brake is fine but you need the front to work that where the braking comes from. Any help would be appreciated.
The bike is perfect in every way except the brake issue.
Thanks

I have never had any issues with this motorcycle and it is a HEAD TURNER everywhere I ride it. The aggressive riding style made it feel like I was not riding a cruiser but a sport-style bike. This bad boy is fast and I will be purchasing another Scout Bobber again in the future.
My favorite thing about this bike was that there are nearly no other riders on the road that have the same bike as I would. Whether I was pulling up to a stop sign, cruising on the highway or pulling into my end destination, I would have people comment on how beautiful of a bike it is. People would always ask about the bike and where I purchased.
If you decide to purchase this motorcycle, prepare for a ton of compliments!

Its an absolute tank! Looks like a shiny new Harley Davidson, despite being 23 years old. Currently have 53,000 kms on it (about 33,000 miles). It sat in a basement not moving for 12 years, when I got it, it was under a half inch of grime. Cleaned the carbs and gas tank, dropped in a new battery, and it roared to life like it was driven yesterday. A day of cleaning and fluid changes, and it was like a brand new bike. Tourque for days, and with the suspension set to 4 it corners like a champ. Its amazing the lean it can get, and the power out of the turns!!
Its a Honda. Nobody's quite sure how long they last, since if they are reasonably taken care of (read: occasional oil changes and try to avoid snow), they keep firing up and running forever.
If you are reading this because you see a deal on an old one, and wondering if they are a good bike, do it. do it now. You're sitting in front of a computer (or phone) when you could be getting one of the best bikes on the road!

I road it from the East coast out to Sturgis in 2015 picked up a nail in the rear tire and the TPMS kept me clued in so I knew the tire pressure was going down before i could feel it or have a miss hap on the road. For a bike that weighs jus under a thousand pounds with me and gear on it, it handles like a dream. I’v’e put over 25000 miles on it these past 2 years and it hasn’t failed to keep a smile on my face yet. It runs very well with its 111Cubic Inh power plant and it looks as sweet as anything out there on the road. I love it, its been my best ride to date.

I'm in my 70s and have had many motorcycles from BSA, Triumphs, Harley's, trikes and last bike was a Victory Cross Country. The Chieftain is the most comfortable so for. For a big touring bagger its very nimble at slow parking lot speeds feels a lot lighter than it is, corners better than you would think. The drivers boards are a little too tight up against the engine and the heat on the right side is bad during the summer but you don't notice much in cooler weather. I am ordering spacers to move the boards out a little of course I wear a size 14 boot so people with normal feet may not notice it. I love the way it rides and sounds.
