First off, let me say I absolutely love this bike. I think this is by far the best cruiser for the dollar you can get. If you want power, it has power. It will get to 80 mph in a hurry, and that's in 2nd gear! Handles really well, although you can scrape the pegs in hard turns. Great thump from the v-twins. Solid, reliable, 48 mpg, easy to customize to your liking, easy to do your own maintenance, and FUN. I thought I would miss fuel injection. Well, the carb works really well on this bike. It does take a few minutes to warm up, then you're ready to go. Now for a couple of critiques: Not a great seat. However, nobody has a great seat. You will want to replace this first. Have to adjust the valves at 600 mi, 8k, etc. Kind of a pain, hydraulic lifters would have been nice. Has plastic that looks like chrome. Almost all manufactures do this now. If you don't like it you can replace it all for not too much money. I definitely rate this as a 5-star despite those issues. ALL bikes have some issues. You can wish for some differences in any bike. that's partly why we customize them. Honestly, when I am riding I really don't think about those things (other than the seat, which I replaced). Take one for a ride, talk with the owners, buy one. You won't be disappointed.

Having put 30,000+ miles on different machines before this bike, I can tell you that this machine rocks! It loves the twisties and running flat out. I never get tired of riding it. Found it new in a lost crate at a local dealer and bought it in Apr '05. Only average about 500 mi/month on this one, but that's not by choice. Wife loves to get her butt on the back and fly through the back country with me. Did I mention it loves the turns? The usual Honda 2nd-gear-clunk, and a tad cold natured, but this thing runs and sounds oh-so good! Lot's of second looks and compliments on looks. Bought a low-rise sissy bar for my honey to keep her butt from flying off, other than that, ride it stock. 80mph+++ wind resistence is not bad at all -- much better that any ride I've had. The 1300c is all the power you need if you wanna stay alive. Awesome acceleration and crusing speed. Did I mention it love the turns? Ride one. You won't wanna get off. Even with the stock seat. Gotta say that even though I don't get much butt fatigue even after couple hundred miles, my honey goes a tad numb after an hour due to the rather limited passenger seat dimensions. Hey did I mention how it LOVES the curves?

Given the difficulty in finding a 919, that was ruled out fairly quickly. Then came the hard part: given my size, I immediately thought the bigger bike was for me. After having ridden both of these bikes, I chose right: the 1300. It handles better, has plenty of power and has the same look as the 1800. To top it all off, I paid less and get better gas mileage (42 mpg rating)! This bike is worth every penny! Unless you absolutely HAVE to have the biggest & the best, go with the 1300.
