2004 Honda VTX Retro 1300 (VTX1300S)

I bought my 2004 VTX 1300 used in early April 2007. It only had 1497 miles on it when I picked it up! It's a great bike but I'm not crazy about the plastic chrome and the motor sounds like it has a little rattle in the front. I don't know if this is normal or not! Over all, it has plenty of power...

I own an 04 VTX 1800N. It's a sweet and powerful bike. I love it and it has a sweet custom paint job - orange/dark brown tiger strip w/tons of chrome. It turns lots of heads. It's priceless to me, eat your heart out...

I bought my retro VTX 06/03 and since then I have bolted on tons of chrome and a set of Vance & Hines pipes. The VTX has been reliable. The only thing I have done is replace the tires at 4500 miles and change the oil every 2500 miles. Honda makes a great product and I am looking forward to owning...

Yeah - this bike will take your breath away! First of all - the 'N' model is rare and I think the look of that rear fender makes it one of the best looking cruisers available. Order the BLUE paint, and people will come over and comment about the bike EVERY time you go out. Twist deep into...

Yeah - this bike will take your breath away! First of all - the 'N' model is rare and I think the look of that rear fender makes it one of the best looking cruisers available. Order the BLUE paint, and people will come over and comment about the bike EVERY time you go out. Twist deep into the throttle and this bike pulls like a jet taking off at full power. The adreneline rush from that - is heart-pounding addictive!! And she has fantastic brakes to match. The hydraulic clutch is so easy to pull that your friends will be jealous if they try it, and it feather's very easily. Size? It's HUGE, and that has advantages and disadvantages. It comfortably loafs on the highway, but the surprise is how well it handles. Point it and lean and she goes exactly where you look, and returns to upright with no effort at all. Slow speed manuveurs take serious practice (practicing the exercises in RIDE LIKE A PRO DVD by Jerry Paladino took care of that). The bike feels (and is) very top heavy. BUT - once you get used to it and get used to handling the size of the bike, you don't notice it anymore. Like any other motorcycle the stock seat needs upgrading, but other than that the bike is very comfortable. I made it 'perfect' for me with the upgrades listed below. Bottom line: TOO MUCH FUN!!!!

I purchased my bike in WV after the dealers in my area of MD refused to even try and work with me on a price. The end result was a savings of over 3K dollars by traveling an extra 300 miles. My 2003 VTX1800C was my first true cruiser. I had a 1993/750 Nighthawk and I was looking for a step up....

My 2003 VTX1800C was my first true cruiser. I had a 1993/750 Nighthawk and I was looking for a step up. This bike starts every time and really gets the looks wherever I go. Once you figure out the power band, the fact is this bike is actually a beast if properly operated. I've smoked past several crotch rockets who were more interested in wheelies than racing.

I bought my VTX 1300C brand new on 3/18/06 and put 13K miles on it in 9 months. I added Vance and Hines Cruzer II pipes and rejetted the carb, custom leather saddle bags, tool bag and highway pegs. I've driven the bike through rains and storms and even 30 mph winds. I have no problems with the bike on the highways. Can't even tell when Semis pass by. I weigh 280 without the riding gear and saddle bags packed and the bike has no problem accellerating or cornering at high speeds. It has plenty of pick up in the higher gears, even 2 up. The custom fenders and pull back handlebars are great and the mag wheels are excellent. If you want to buy a name and be a weekend warrior (1000 miles a year), then buy a Harley. IF you want to ride and won't settle for less than quality and a great ride.....then buy a VTX. The VTX is an excellent motorcycle.

Well, I've gotten the first 1000 miles under my belt and I couldn't be happier! The bike handles like a dream. I've ridden the interstates through Metro Atlanta, and the bike is well behaved in the buffeting. I've ridden 2 up with a combined weight of about 430 pounds and the bike has plenty of...

This is my first cruiser and love it. I have driven sport and dirt all my life and decided to give this a shot. (it takes longer to heal the older you get) Easy to ride, handles well in traffic and plenty of power for crusing. The only complaint is the stock seat, numb bum after a hundred miles...

The only complaint is the stock seat, numb bum after a hundred miles and you don't get used to it. I bought an Ultimate seat and now can ride all day.

Logged over 11000 miles this last summer on this bike. Not one bit of trouble. Rode it to Sturgis, from CA, the Grand Canyon, Vegas, Death Valley, Reno Street Vibrations, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, etc. Added a Mustang touring seat which I highly recommend. Looks great and allows you to sit for 3-4 hours without discomfort. Added tallest aftermarket windshield I could find and chrome lowers. The lowers are a must. Otherwise the wind comes under the windshield and shoots right up into your helmet. If you wear a full face helmet the nosie level is maddening w/o the lowers. Added Bubb pipes too. I love the power of this bike. I road with 7 riders to Sturgis. All of them on Harleys. The VTX blew everyone of them away. Especially on hill climbs. I'm looking for a sport tourer just to ride something different. Eyeing the new Triumph Tiger. Think I'll keep my VTX though. The resale isn't that great. I still get lots of compliments on the bike. Especially the pipes. Would recommend the bike to buy. Great value when compared to a Harley. Although the HOG club is a lot of fun.
