Honda Shadow Ace Tourer reviews

My husband bought me my Shadow Spirit C2 for my 39th birthday this year. It is a bucket list item for me. At only 5'-4", I looked long and hard for a bike that "fit" me comfortably and something I could ride confidently as a beginner. The Shadow fits the bill. It is also forgiving of "new rider" mistakes, especially in shifting. I'm getting better, but I'm still learning to listen for the engine speed to match the gear just right. After looking at Harley Sportsters, I'm glad I chose the Shadow. It is a much nicer looking bike! The seat does get a little uncomfortable after an hour or so. Maybe a gel pad would help. Overall, I love my Shadow. I don't think I could have done better for my first bike! Show less

It's a great bike. I've done lots of city riding and trips 200 to 300 miles. This was great for a beginner, I'm not - 40 years of riding. I really enjoy riding this bike. Show less

I love the bike. I ride it every day. The original seat was terrible but no worries. With a Mustang wide touring with backrest, I now can ride 10 hours a day. It's just right on the power and fit and everything. If you weigh 160 pounds, the original seat is probably good. I'm so happy I put the good seat on. I would have quit riding without it. 45 miles to the gallon - I love it. Show less

I hadn't ridden in 30 years and then I moved to Texas. that's when I decided to get a bike again. I shopped around and looked at new and used bikes. I came across my 2006 Sabre at a dealer two years ago. It didn't take long to make my mind up after seeing this bike. I have been riding now for 2+ years and wouldn't give it up for anything. I just bought a Mustang seat and boy did that make a difference. Now I don't want to get off my bike. Show less

I had been riding Vulcans the last 12 years, but came back to Honda four months ago. The bike had 7,100 miles on it, now it is at 15,450. It handles like a dream, is comfortable and is good for around town or around the world. It has more power than you need, it's great for 2 up riding - you can't get more motorcycle for your money than this bike. Show less

I bought my 2009 Shadow new in May, 2011, and have enjoyed riding it this summer. I have had no problem with the bike at all, and I've been getting around 55 mpg! Good power and smooth shifting make the Honda Shadow Aero a winner for me. Show less

I own the 2000 1100 Sabre and let me tell you something!!! This is the best bike I ever owned. I been riding since 1993 and when I first got this bike in 2002, I did all the leather accessory buying, saddle bags, sissy bar, tassles, and tool carrier; friends loved it. I decided to go another direction with it; I decided to "show it". A friend of mine and I collaborated together and have done a fabulous paint detail on it and I have so far put it in six bike shows and have five first place trophies and one second place trophy. People mouths drop when they find out that it's a HONDA! I would not trade it for the world. In fact I know friends that have personally traded their Harley in for a Honda after seeing mine and what it could do. Show less

I'm a first time Raider and I love my Shadow to death. I feel so comfortable on that bike. It's just good. It feels smooth and still has enough power for me. I like to cruise around and for that she is perfect. It's black with Snakeskin and looks nice. Show less

I got this bike about a year ago I have put 6,200 miles on her and I must say that I love it. It runs outstanding, handles great and most of all it looks as good as it runs. I ride with a lot of HD riders and I'm able to stay with them and get more compliments on the look of my ride than they do. Plus, I paid half as much. I love this ride! Show less

Although I love my bike. I have some complaints about the gear rationing. Around town 1st gear is too low and 2nd gear is too high. But on the highway, it's better than the last Harley I owned. That was 30 years ago though. Still I love the dependability of my Honda. Show less
