Honda Gold Wing (GL1800) reviews

This is my first motorcyle (5+ years on a 400 cc maxi-scooter, though). I was blown away by the ease of operation. Slow speed handling takes some getting used to, but at highway speeds the Wing handles as well as the scooter. The handlebars are just slightly too far front for 100% comfort, so I will have to extend them back about 1 to 1.5 inches at some point. The stereo is awesome. GPS is adequate although I understand there may be no map upgrades available, which may eventually be a problem. i highly recommend this bike! Show less

I purchased a new 2009 GL-1800 Gold Wing with comfort and audio package in September, 2010 from a dealership in Nebraska. I got a nice trade-in for my 2010 Honda 1300 Interstate and trailered the new Gold Wing back to my home in Colorado the same day. I am 68 years old and found the Gold Wing very easy to ride and control, even after almost 5,000 miles in every type of weather. Show less

This bike is absolutely incredible! I've had crotch rockets and cruisers, and neither come anywhere close to this bike. The bike is very comfortable, and it handles like a dream. I can honestly say I love this bike! You have to try one, you'll definitely be impressed. Show less

I love my Wing. I wish I would have got this bike four Harleys ago. The staff is great and made this a great purchase. This is the perfect bike it rides like a sport bike only it's fat. If you are looking for a great ride, try it, you will love it! Show less

I love my 05 Anniversary model, which I purchased used March, 2009 and it currently has 30k on it. The cremey-smooth engine loves to travel and remains all-around comfortable day-after-day. Only lack of adjustable ergo's (bars/pegs/seat) and want for about 20 more hp keep it from a perfect 5-star rating across-the-board. The handling is the true surprise! Ease of turn-in, steady tracking, and stellar manuverability due to sport-bike aluminum frame and low center-of-gravity (flat 6 design/engine placement) make this a true "sport-tourer" despite the luggage and large fairing. The only limitation is a rider's abilities! Nothing gone wrong in the first 30k. This is highly recommended. Show less

I just wanted to tell everyone that is interested in buying a new motorcycle that after owning a 2009 Ultra Classic Harley and going for a test ride on a 2010 GoldWing, there is no comparison. The GoldWing is a far better handling bike. It has way more power and is honestly a dream to ride. I have been riding bikes for 32 years now and I only wish I had ridden a GoldWing years ago. It is by far the best motorcycle I have ever ridden. By the way I bought the Goldwing and will never go back to a Harley. Show less

I had a 2003 Illusion Blue Wing that I loved, but someone decided to run me over and total the bike so I bought a new one. My wife loves to go with and after a short trip to Des Moines for the Wing Ding, we traveled with friends (who own a 2009 Wing) to the beautiful state of Colorado. We visited our son logging over 2,900 miles through all kinds of weather and road conditions. The Wing handled fantastic even with all the junk my wife hauled along. (May need to invest in a trailer!) Can't wait till the next trip! Show less

After three months of riding our new 1300 with the Motor Trike kit, we are basically pleased with the Trike. We get lots of positive comments and questions about it. Since there are many around here in Nebraska, it is almost a novelty. The only problem is the customer service. There is none. No follow-up calls or any contact from the dealer. Even the MotorTrike factory has sent me to another dealer for work on our bike. If we did this all over, I would definitely go to the local Harley dealer and get a Harley Trike. Customer service there is absolutely awesome. Never again will I go back to this dealer. Not even for warranty work or service. We are driving 90 miles for all our work now. Show less

This bike was a dream of mine to get. In March, 2006 I took delivery & have never been happier. Some annoying little things have happened. Foot Peg Rubber (Torn at edge twice) and the Trunk Hinges (Wire Holders). The Dunlop Tires didn't last long enough. Clearance in the center of the bike is too low. Plastic rivets are a nice idea but tend to lose a couple. Besides that all else is great. Center of gravity is always awesome on Honda's products. Handles super for me for such a large bike. Plenty of Torque. Wished it was a 6-speed though. It would improve gas mileage which is not bad right now. It ranges from 39-45 mpg depending on how I ride. Love it over all. Keep listening to the buyer & success will continue. Show less

I had a 1989 GL 1500 before I purchased my 2005 GL 1800. I personally love them both. I have nothing but good things to say about my 05 and as of this writing I know of nothing that even comes close to the feel of the "new" goldwing. There is NOT a finer bike made. Show less
