Bought this bike out of the crate but 3 yrs old. So I got it cheap. Had not ridden a bike in 15 yrs and wanted something reliable and predictable. I wanted something that I could ride around through the back country roads and take day trips on comfortably with my GF. I also wanted something that I could customize myself. The stock seats were not awful but got uncomfortable after a couple hours. Changed those out for Mustang seats with driver backrest and that made a huge difference. Added a passenger backrest so my GF felt safer and I swapped out both the passenger and driver pegs for floorboards. That made a difference too. Added engine guard and highway pegs and saddle bags which made day rides out to the mountains a lot easier, able to stretch out a bit and pack enough snacks and drinks and extra clothes like a raincoat or sweatshirt that we have at least the basics for a day out. I added fender trim and a front fender ornament. For a basic bike with a few upgrades, I get a lot of compliments on its looks. Bike has plenty of power, even with 2 of us on it. Not gonna race a rice grinder but plenty to cruise comfortably at 70. Handling is solid and predictable. The mechanics are reliable. Maintenance is easy as heck. I think if I were going to do a week long trip I would want a bigger bike with more bells and whistles but for a day tripper or even a weekend this bike is more than fine with a few comfort upgrades. I am an old Harley guy, until l picked up Valkyrie, what a bike. Yes best bike ever built.. the power, smooth ride, beautiful machine. I have owned around 10 Valkyries. My last one was a Marron and cream.broke my heart to see her go. I am 70 now and not as strong as I used to be.ride free and safe Valkyrie riders, enjoy the best bike ever. 500k miles is not unusual.. Show less

Bought this bike because I liked the look of it, mine is Pearl Ivory Cream and Black, named her Pearl, lots of tasteful aftermarket studded accessories, driving lights,saddle bags, etc. Lots of torque, almost as much as my 93 V65 Magna, which is saying something, factory exhaust does not need replacing, excellent exhaust note, turns easily in the 16', very nimble, vibrates a little due to the single crank pin but that's what makes it even greater. Can't believe these bikes go for so cheap. They're a hidden gem. 81,000kms on mine. Replaced all fluids voluntarily, oil and filter of course every year, brakes and tires recently and I'm good for a good while yet. Love the bike. It's on bikez.com it's way in in the pics but if you look you'll see the front of a tractor to the right in my garage. Don't hesitate, get one. Really fun to ride. Show less

I have a used Motorcycle shop in Chattanooga Tennessee, and I have had everything type of bike ever made. The Honda VTX 1800 is the best bike ever made. I messed up and sold the first one I had, but I bought another one and I'll keep it. The Suzuki R1092 doesn't even come close as far as reliability and comfort. Love my VTX, and you will to if you can handle the power. This bike will get you where you want to go, and get you there quicker than you can imagine. Show less

My Honda is really good looking, if you want to get back into riding, or if your small like me, the Honda Rebel is low seat, only weighs 418 lbs. handles really well. has enough power for interstate riding. it's really quick,comfortable in my opinion, no numb butt so far, no vibration in the handlebars. very easy to control cornering,fantastic lean angle.no it doesn't have a gear indicator, but easy to hear rpm's to shift. has A B S, brakes are really good. it's a really great bike with enough power without being over powered for new riders, of just learning to ride.i definately recommend the rebel 500. I love this flat 6 beast! The Valkyrie ride like a sport bike, it's a breeze when you are cruising, very stable and a lot of fun on the road. Overall very fast, powerful, and comfortable. Over the years I owned several motorcycles, but this one is a real keeper!!! Show less

Bought it new in 1984, and I still have it in 2021. That says it all. It does not have a power band, it just has power, period. The kind you can use in the real world, not at 11,00 rpm like some bikes. Have the factory fairing with lowers and just put on some Conti Road Attack 3 radials. Anyone who owns this bike needs to put those tires on. It absolutely transforms the bike and your confidence. Just the perfect tire for this bike. Sticky enough for the power even in the corners. Now I can let lose of the handle bars at any speed without a wobble, something I have never been able to do with any other tire. As others have said this bike can get you in trouble in pretty much any gear. Replaced the rear shock with a Blackbird 1100, reshaped the seat with some Pudgee foam and you can go for hours without a sore ass. I will never sell it, it means that much to me. Others may be faster, or be more nimble, but of all the bikes I have owned(7) none were more fun. And that's what it's all about. A great bike! Show less

I absolutely love my Magna. It will run with, and outrun most of the Big Boys all day long. Looks are Top-shelf even thought it is 27 years old. I have owned it for 2 years. The original owner almost never rode it, and I put new Metzlers on it after a slide out. Show less

Had since 2015 .Great looking bike-New black paint and alot of chrome. 50,000 miles on it. Just rode 1600 miles round trip six days last june. Very dependable. Great performance. Always getting compliments. I left the Honda emblem off the tank to create some mystery. Sometimes i miss the sound of my Harley exhaust but i love the dependability of the Honda. Show less

YEAAAAH, we are in 2021 and probably I’m so late with the review of the Honda VTX 1800 c , Now we have a lot of options ( Suzuki M109R, Harleys 114 Ci, and many others ) .... But guys, The HONDA VTX 1800 Is still amazing and is probably the best choice you can make.... in 2021 is a cheap bike, and is still one of the most powerful bikes in the market, I got my second vtx 1800 this January (this is model C and the last before was a R model ) and this bike could beat almost any Harley (110 and 114 ci ) and is not fast as a triumph rocket 3 or a Yamaha Vmax, but is still too much power for a cruiser motorcycle..... around 100 hp and a lot of torque, the seat is not too comfortable but you can get some of the many options available to improve that, and that’s it, there is not excuses to not consider the vtx 1800 as a very good option when you want to buy a powerful (very powerful) bike for a reasonable price Show less
