I've owned a total of five 250cc bikes. Yamaha's & KTM's. The CRF 250X has blown them out of the water. Without a question. The design and weight are amazing, very light bike with great pick up. It is the best buy I've made. YOU GOTTA GET...

I have had my 250X everywhere except the kelp paddies since I got it this spring. It loves the dirt. It plows straight as an arrow in sand unless the throttle is pinned and you have to steer by tail slides. The suspension is plush even hauling my rather large carcass. Standing position is cramped...

I have had my 250X everywhere except the kelp paddies since I got it this spring. It loves the dirt. It plows straight as an arrow in sand unless the throttle is pinned and you have to steer by tail slides. The suspension is plush even hauling my rather large carcass. Standing position is cramped though. The bike has been in some pretty spectacular crashes without too much wear and tear on the cases and plastics--wish I could say the same for my skin. This bike does drink engine and tranny oil like Kool-Aid so if you are going out for a long weekend, bring plenty of hondalube. So far 68 miles without running out of gas.

What can I say about the best bike I have ever ridden? Well, Renthal bars are stock, It starts easy, I don't even really need the hot start button, the suspension is awesome for all out moto (with a few tweaks), a bit harsh for off-road, turns ON A DIME, and it has incredible handling! Light,...

Well, Renthal bars are stock, It starts easy, I don't even really need the hot start button, the suspension is awesome for all out moto (with a few tweaks), a bit harsh for off-road, turns ON A DIME, and it has incredible handling! Light, light, and light! did I mention its light? Its narrow body fits me like a glove. Attention to detail and workmanship are what you'd expect from Honda... top notch. Incredible brakes, strong midrange, claps out a bit early on the top end - shift! I can't really say there is anything that I don't like except maybe the cheesy rims that need constant adjustment but that is minor. The engine eats up 40cc of oil an hour so be aware of that. I may be looking for ways to get more ponies soon.

After 35 years of riding a 2 stroke I decided to go with the flow and purchase my first 4-stroke. The neighbors are happy I did. To answer all the questions they are different. 4-strokes deliver power in small doses not in one large dose. I've been riding in Hare Scramble series with a heavily modified CR-250R and have done very well. But I must say that right now I'm not as fast on the CRF-X. Mostly because I don't have enough seat time on the bike. This bike is a blast to ride and it will wheelie out of corners. It handles jumps well and is very light feeling in the air. The engine has been getting better (easier) starting over time. However, I will say that it doesn't like to start in gear. I'm hoping this is because it still tight. The only other issue I have is that it gets a little light in the front end at speed.

Just picked it on Friday the 12th, took it home, and prepped it for the weekend that night. Will have to get a new rear spring or loose some weight, but I love the suspension just the same. Went to Hollister Saturday morning, 11:00 am rode to dark minus a 30-minute break to eat some lunch/re-charge the body. Did a few bar adjustments got more confident and want to call my bud so bad to get his down and have some real fun. Stopped riding cause it was dark and I was developing monkey butt, cleaned the dirt and bugs out of my teeth (from all day riding with a huge grin), splashed bathed, ate some dinner, drank 2 beers, and had the most wonderful dream in my life: "I bought a perfect bike". Got up at 0700 and rode for another 1/2 day. I was totally drained. It has enough power for serious fun, rides & turns great, soaks up all terrain thrown at it, and is a blast to ride. I had more fun in one day then the previous 3 months riding my old bike. Oh, did I forget to mention it's got the magic button and a green sticker? Buy one if you can find one, good luck.
