I have always owned CBR 900's and will stick with the Hondas for sure. This is a great bike, handling and torque is awesome. Great for wheelies and stoppies as well. The bike performs like you wouldn't believe! It has more power than I'll ever use. I've taken it drag racing and hit 10.76 quarter mile, @ 130MPH with only a Power Commander and Two Brother exhaust. Through the twisties at Deals Gap, "The Dragon" in TN, the bike handled amazingly. At times it was a little flicky coming out of the turns, but what can I expect with all that horsepower waiting to go. My only complaint is the comfort of the seat. But then again, this isn't a touring machine. You are buying a high performance bike! Enjoy!

I just picked up a '02 954 last weekend as a leftover for a really great price. The bike overall was a little larger than I thought once I got it home, but who cares! I'd been waiting for a long time to get it, as I was also looking at the new R1. Something about this one just made it stand out. Had to be the paint. This bike is WAY too sexy for its paint. Needless to say, I was riding all weekend. Wicked fast and very easy to wheelie.... I can't wait until I get a feel for it. Speaking of feel though, the seat reminds me of riding on a 2x4, and the wrists get sore after a few minutes. Loosening the suspension helped some, but this is a bred and true race bike with signals and lights, so how much can you ask for? I can't wait to add extras and spend the summer leaving my mark on every back road on the eastern shore! This bike is Mr. Bad, and when you roll up, people know what it is. The newer breed of crotch rockets might overshadow it, but this one is still the original ICBM on two wheels! Ride Red.

I've owned a CBR 600 before this and this bike is nothing but the best. Smooth, strong power with great maneuverability! I haven't bothered with any of those shiny stick on nonsense parts (end cans, seats etc), I just ride it. It's very easy to get the knee down on this bike. I wouldn't bother with the steering bearing "recall", not a recall but a service update, unless you're unhappy with the steering. I like how it flicks side to side so easily. It's cheap too, cheaper than the Gixxer and the R1.

Just purchased this bike and compared to my 02' GSXR750 the bike is more than I expected. More power, control and the ride blows me away. I will recommed this bike to anyone in the market for one. I was looking at the R1 but this 954 I am very pleased with. I have rigged it with a M4 carbon slip-on and Competition Works fender eliminator kit and it already has the LED in the back which is a sharp add on from Honda. I also put Lockhart flush mount blinkers. I will send you a picture later, you will be pleased. My friends all say it is wickedly fast.

Smooth and to turn this bike you don't even have to think about it. The single word that comes to mind when I ride this bike is "Torquey". It hates to go slow, it wants to run. I love this bike.
