Excellent motorcycle, extremely reliable, comfortable ride with forward controls and mini Apes. Always kept up with maintenance. This bike made it to Sturgis 2012 and back to Seattle. Helping my mother in CA selling the bike there.

It's a great bike! My first Harley. My wife's first Harley. Then my Harley again. We've enjoyed running around locally as well as journeys all around Minnesota to Milwaukee and to Sturgis.

This is the absolute best motorcycle I have owned. It is far superior in looks and performance than the ninja I had previously. The ride is impeccable at any speed , gets around town , and delivers a superb ride on highway excursions. I bought the last remaining 2017 here in Michigan in my area and love this bike . It takes some getting used to as far as the lean angle in the corners but what a machine.. Classic chopper styling with.a superb handling make this a perfect all around bike. If you find one buy it, you won't be disappointed

I love this bike and hate it about the same. Factory stock this bike soon needs rider pegs, grips, repairs. Had brand new since 2007 and we’re passing 54,000 miles together. You want to customize your bike anyway so when the pegs started sagging and the grips started becoming rubbery sticky is wasn’t a big deal. The first major thing was the engine stutter on acceleration. Found out the wiring harness didn’t allow for the engine torque stretched the rear injector connector and starts giving you rear injector open error code. My fender fluff and I are motor heads so we have started doing 100 percent of our own repairs. Took him in (yea his name is Dane) for the 10k and 20k but after costing about a grand to do the service and having to readjust the setup we like we are 100 percent home maintenance. Another problem since purchase is if we go over a mountain pass or have a major air temp/density change the bike will shut down and we have to off/on the emc to reset the engine electronics. A growling sound at idle and in neutral ended up being primary inner bearing failure. We’ve had nearly every imaginable problem and repair at 54k miles. A new set of tires every year that cost as much as 4 new tires for the car. We love to ride but man does it get frustrating at times. Fluff told me to shut up and ride so …… see ya out there

After 4 weeks of riding, the engine just suddenly stopped while I was cruising at 45 mph, like I had pressed the engine's off switch.
I rolled to the side, turned off and on the ignition again and it started like normal.

After 4 weeks of riding, the engine just suddenly stopped while I was cruising at 45 mph, like I had pressed the engine's off switch.
I rolled to the side, turned off and on the ignition again and it started like normal.
It seems this is pretty normal for these bikes according to many Harley members on a forum. Even HD mechanics wasn't sure what it was since it's difficult to replicate the problem since it is happening rare and very random.
Some said it could happen 3 times a month, others 1 time per year.
The second problem with the bike is the riding position = the air filter and engine is so big and wide that your legs get spread out way too much, making it hard to reach break pedal. Another problem with this is wind during higher speeds: At 70 to 80 mph the wind will hit your spread out legs so hard that it feels you will lose grip on the foot-pegs. So you sort of hold on to the bike as you feel the wind will pull you off.
Another issue with the bike is the dreaded fork "clunk" = every time you hit a small bump in the road or breaks a bit hard on your forward breaks your forks will give this metallic "clunk" sound.
This is apparently something that is normal with the bikes and HD mechanics says it's just the way it's constructed. Also on forums many have various meanings why this sound occurs. All from lose gas tank, not enough oil in the forks, or some bolts not screwed tight enough. But none seems to be able to fix this.
Also having 70 hp, the bike's torque and acceleration is very bad. Maybe it's due to it's heavy weight of 661 lbs or just old engine technology.
My 1400 Intruder with it's 60 hp would smoke this heavy hog any day.
Coming back to my Intruder after many weeks of riding the Harley I came to a conclusion = The Harley felt like something from world war 2. Noisy, shaky and unreliable with bad performance.
The Intruder outperforms the Harley in every department. It even looks slicker and cooler.
I am selling my Harley and will keep the best cruiser bike I ever ridden

This 105th Anniversary Wide Glide is my first Harley. I was raised on Ducati's, Moto Guzzi's, BMW's, and various metric sportbikes. I love all bikes as they all offer something different. I pulled the trigger on the '08 Wide Glide because I fell in love with the looks, but I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and comfort. I love the rubber mounted engine and the way it shakes at idle but is super smooth at speed. The handling is great for a cruiser and very light but sure. Make no mistake, this is not a sportbike and it does not pretend to be. The engine has gobs of torque though, and it feels well made and solid. In fact, the attention to detail and function on the Wide Glide are first class. The Wide Glide has been 100% reliable and trouble free on every ride. The riding position for me at least is way more comfortable the the Fat Boy. The Fat Boy felt cramped and it was a bit of a reach for the bars. The ride on the WG is not too bad either except over the worst bumps. The brakes are okay but given the parameters of the bike more than up to the task. Clutch feel is light but progressive, and pulling away from the lights is a snap. I now have a Ducati, Moto Guzzi and a Harley in my stable - one for every mood I'm in! The Wide Glide is great for those lazy rides where you're not in the mood for corner carving, just for having fun and chilling out. I plan to get some bags for it in the near future, I already have the quick detatch backrest and screen. I'll have this one for a long time.
