I bought my Monster in September 2007. I ride the twisting roads in southwest Virginia with lots of mountains. I also joined the Twin Valley riders in Roanoke - lots of great sportbikes. The same excitement I felt the first day riding this bike has not diminished. As a matter of fact I like this bike even more now that I've gotten a few miles under my belt. It has great brakes, great throttle response and handling that is second to none. I would like to own about three or four Ducatis. I just can't stay off this bike. Every time I stop for gas this bike causes a stir.

Wow, that's hot! Dude, that's sick! Hello, are you single? Yes, folks, that's what riding a Ducati Monster S2R 1000 solicits. I managed to cover 7,500 miles in a mere 7 months in the congested city as well as open interstates and back roads. Using the bike around the city, at low rpm, is where the air-cooled dual-spark desmo engine shines. The useable torque throughout the operating range in normal city traffic will move you with confidence. On interstates and twisty roads, the S2R 1000 performs extremely well, offering the comfortable riding position along with at great hp to weight ratio blended with fantastic handling and suspension creates a fun and exciting motorcycling experience. Upgrading to a Ducati Performance seat transforms the ride and comfort of the bike. Longest ride in one day was 587 miles! If you're looking for a great looking naked bike that offers reliable performance, with a legacy and heritage for class-leading engineering, than visit your local Ducati dealership. Whether you choose a Monster or another Ducati, you won't be disappointed. Please test ride all the other manufacturers first and visit Ducati last. Bring your checkbook. Wear all your gear all the time. Have fun. Be Safe.

I looked at them every time I stopped by there for a break from riding (it is that kind of dealership). Anyway they asked if I wanted to test drive the 620 MTS of course I said yes. When I first started off I noticed how light and agile it was. A fantastic ride, surprisingly quick for an air cooled 2 valve 618cc motor. It was so comfortable. I became a Ducati fan immediately. I have been surprised at the reliability, quality and fuel mileage (50-55mpg) and even though I am 55, I don't ride it like most people my age ride. It is a blast to ride, especially in the twisties.

Love the sound the motor makes. It is nothing like the Rice Rockets. It is comfortable, the clutch is smooth, enough power for a beginner; Handles very nicely. I find myself wishing for a sport fairing to cut down on the wind factor. Had it up to 155 km/hr. Gets lot of compliments on how beautiful it is. So far, I love every km on it.

I would reccomend this bike for all women and for anyone who is, well, short. Maybe a little later I'll up grade for a bike with a little more power, but this 695 has PLENTY of power for getting around town and to and from college so it's what I need for now. The only reasion I gave it a 4 for comfort is just that your hands get tired fast unless you're used to the leaning forward.

The performance on this bike didn't get a five star due to having to down shift to lower gears when wanting to open her up. Comfort is a little rough, but you will get use to riding her after a while. I have ridden for 5 hours straight and my wrist were a little sore. I would recommend this bike to someone who has some experience under their belt. The torque on this bike is a amazing and not for the timid rider. Remember, ride safe.

Near perfect in every respect. Aside from the exhaust being quiet (although visceral) I've yet to find a flaw in this bike. I have complete confidence in every situation when riding. I'm never left wanting more power. Wind protection is surprisingly good. No silent pocket mind you but I always wear a good full face and earplugs. I wish I could be more subjective but to point out any bad habits in this bike would be an exaggeration of something very minor.

Wow, I simply cannot get enough of this bike. The only thing preventing me from riding it right now is the weather here in Albuquerque. The sound of the engine and exhaust are glorious! It sounds like a REFINED v-twin. There are some quirks with the bike like the fact its clutch does not engage until you are just about to let go of the clutch. It doesn't come with a windscreen either though there are plenty of aftermarket ones available. The handling of this bike is simply awesome and the extra weight over my previous Ninja 250R makes for a more stable ride in windy conditions. I can't wait to ride it again!
