The Ducati multi GT is an amazing machine, and with the Ducati safety pack, like an amazing partner on the road... it once self corrected at speed when I hit an unseen oil patch on some fresh asphalt. It is incredible technology that was a split second faster than my own quick reflexes. The power under load is impressive. Fully loaded with 2 riders, no problem. I had one of the greatest adventures of my life taking mine on a round trip cross country tour. The heated grips came in handy in the mountains out west. All four riding modes are awesome and the Multi handles well on or off-road in rocky and sandy terrain. The road is your oyster with this beautiful trusty beast.

This is an awesome adventure bike. Here are what I consider to be the pros of this bike:

1. It has brutal amounts of power on tap (170hp!) but a very refined power delivery
2. Huge amounts of low end torque to get off the line and out of the hole
3. Sounds pretty awesome also with the Acro pipe it comes with
4. Very relaxed riding position for those long rides
5. Comes with saddle bags as part of the package
6. You can get low and high option saddles for it
7. Heated grips and heated seat
8. Active cruise control is amazing with blind spot detection
There are also some things I didn’t particularly like about it compared to other bikes:
1. Honestly the saddle is not that soft so my ass hurts on long rides, but overall it’s pretty decent. The high saddle I use is a bit softer than the stock one.
2. The quick shifter works awesome if you are on the gas or in higher gears, but 1st to 2nd at low speeds is a bit rough. Going slow I usually go to 2nd with the clutch.
3. The 19” front wheel is probably awesome for going off road but I prefer the 17” sport bike feel. Maybe the V4 pikes peak would be better for folks who want sport bike handling.
4. The built in navigation using the Ducati app is not very good. I put my phone up there and use that instead.

This bike is a true sport touring motorcycle with the emphasis on sport. It comes with everything needed for touring including functional, roomy side cases, heated grips, center stand and adjustable windscreen. Touring, sport riding, track days, commuting and even a little off pavement riding is well within the bike's capabilities. In spite of the fact that this engine makes super bike power, it is completely manageable with the four engine modes. The Skyhook suspension is always working and does a great job of reacting to road conditions and the style of riding whether it be two up with luggage or tearing around a race track, truly amazing. This is the perfect sport touring motorcycle - it's fast, durable, fun and beautiful to look at. After all, it is a Ducati!

Tony King has been with me on this purchase since 2010 and worked out all the details for me. He even worked for me when I was setting up my first service. For such a big dealer, they are very personable. I have recommended them even before I purchased and will recommend them with flying colors.

The 1198 engine delivers loads of power--enough to lift the front tire if you are not careful. Cornering is confidence building. It still amazes me that such an upright bike can act like a super bike! The electronic ride control works flawlessly and you can really tell the difference from sport to touring to urban. The seat is very comfortable---no need to shop for an aftermarket seat here. Having come from a BMW K1200 R, this bike is more thrilling and versatile.

If you like to put mega miles under you in a day, then this is the bike. Just don't exspect to feel your hands for a couple of hours. It feels like you are on a gyroscope. You don't hardly have to think about keeping it between the lines. This thing is amazing. It just sits up and cruises. And the seating comfort, the best. I've never sat on a bike so perfect in placment of seat, bars and mirrors.

I spent several days riding motorcycles in Italy this summer and the new Multistrada was one of the bikes I spent a day on. It was an S model without the panniers attached and I rode 2-up the entire time on primarily country back roads with a few miles of highway riding. The most informative thing I believe I could say about it is that it totally lives up to every aspect of riding that Ducati depicts on their various videos on the website. I am 6-1 and the bike fit me perfectly. I am a sportbike guy (1098S) but this bike felt tall to me even taking that into consideration. The handling of the bike is absolutely superb and the suspension is perfect. Even with a passenger I was almost able to keep up with some very good riders on a 1198, 848, 999 and a 996. I wonder what I might have been able to do without a passenger but I didn't get to try that. The stump pulling torque of the engine is absolutely a rush. On the twisty roads I found no use whatsoever for anything but sport mode, but I did try the touring mode and urban mode. It was interesting how much more grunt and growl the engine has in sport mode compared to the others. I was flat out amazed that the same engine could take on such different character from mode to mode. I did get to cycle the DTC - it is truly amazing. Went blasting into a roundabout on a wet road and unexpectedly came across a plate of steel in the road that was laying across a hole that had been dug. The rear tire slipped and the power peeled off smoothly and immediately like nothing was wrong. I also cycled it a few times on some wet mountain roads in the corners. It works exactly like Ducati says it works. Beautiful. This is defintely a bike you can ride all day. The seating position is very, very straight up and the hand grips are spaced further apart than I am used to, but I got over that pretty quickly. Everything about the motorcycle just exudes quality, from fit to finish to sound - everything. AND - it looks better in person than any picture I have seen. I do have a few negatives about it. It is a very tall bike that handles like a sportbike in so many ways. That isn't exactly my taste, but a bike that performs this well, I guess that is an acceptable compromise for the comfort. I also did not care for the note of the stock exhaust - it was a bit neutered. Termigs would be a must. Also, the height of the windscreen was such that it created quite a bit of noisy buffer when it interacted with my helmet. It didn't shake my helmet at all, just noise. The screen is adjustable, however, and I did not try it in any setting other than the lowest because I do not like to look though a windshield when I ride. All said, I give it 5 stars all the way and 5 stars to Ducati for completely delivering a motorcycle that is exactly what they said it would be.

My Multistrada shares a garage with a Tiger 1050 and K1200GT gen 2. The Multi is naturally compared to the Tiger in magazine shootouts and that is a fair comparison because both bikes are aimed at folks who want a bike that does it all. However, the Multi would appeal more to those who enjoy pushing the limits of a bike on fun/challenging roads and the Tiger would appeal to those are not as likely to want to find the limits of handling. Multi is firm, turns very quickly, brakes strong and enjoys spirited riding on roads where I love to ride, but have a hard time finding those roads where I live. When I find those roads, the Multi is great. It has a comfortable seating position and decent wind protection. Factory luggage is fairly well integrated, but side cases are difficult to open and close when loaded because they are a bit flimsy. Seat is not good for distances, even the gel version. When compared to the Tiger, the Tiger has softer suspension, does not turn quite as quickly nor does it brake quite as strong as the Multi. However, the Tiger does do all of those things well and it is has a seat that will not punish you, luggage that is easy to open and close once you do it a couple of times, has great wind protection. If I had to choose one I would have to go with the Tiger because I do not have roads that compliment the Multi and the Tiger is just that much more comfortable, engine is stronger and is a bit easier to live with. That being said, when I find the right road on the Multi it makes me realize the Multi is a great alternative to a sport bike. Handles like a sport bike with much more comfort than a sport bike. Only gave reliability 4 stars because my Multi suffered from the instrument panel problems that plague so many Ducati's and needed to be replaced. Mechanically it has been 100% as most Ducati's are. Most Ducati issues are annoying and mysterious electrical issues that most of the Ducati's do not have, but if you are one of the unlucky ones that has the gremlins you may be chasing them for the life of the bike. I would endorse the Multi 100% if you like riding aggressively but do not want to ride in pain like you would on a sport bike.
