Just tested and drove the Atlantic 500.After trying out a Silver Wing I will say this: WOW! Although the Wing had more get up and go, the Aprilia had more directional stability and solid feel. And you just gotta love the look! The kicked up in the butt stance of the Honda and Suzuki cannot match the classic, timeless "Yeah, I'm Cool" Aura that the Atlantic oozes. So needless to say, I bought a silver 500 and the dealer will deliver to us this weekend. Parting with a 85 Gold Wing GL1200A, so it will take some getting used to. But scooters are DEFINITELY gaining ground and I think this represents a fine value for the buyer who wants a fine looking, smooth, fast scooter. Will update this report when the "New Glow" wears off. Scoot On!! MIke. B.

I've just tested this bike and it's great. Huge comfort level that is unseen in the scooter line up. Performance is excellent. I went up to 90 mph and it was still going. I just ran out of road ;-) So I say "this is the best maxiscooter out there. Congrats to...

Very stable highway cruiser also averaging 57 - 63 mpg. Automatic feature is a refreshing change, no searching for neutral! Another great feature is the quiet engine and exhaust - great to hear nature. The 500cc engine is very capable for a single rider or rider and passenger. It can easily keep up with any bike. Insurance is very reasonable.

This scooter is smooth and very comportable. With the larger Givi windshield the ride is quiet and blocks the wind. If you need and want storage space this is as good if not better than a Gold Wing. I can fit four (4) full size hemets in the spaces. Two helmets under the seat and two in the...

I can fit four (4) full size hemets in the spaces. Two helmets under the seat and two in the optional Givi rear TOP BOX.I ride sometimes with my 5 year old and it's so compfortable she falls asleep quite often (strapped to me with my Childsridingbelt)

Scooter is fun to ride, corners well, has 13 inch wheels and acts similar to a motorcycle. Rarely wait for turn lights with long traffic lines because it's so short I can go up the adjacent lane and merge into the turn lane with the "huge" gaps that slow moving SUVs and trucks leave. What fun! Great for small errands or to go get a quick bite to eat.

Just made it through the winter on my Ditech SR50, commuting everyday through Washington, DC city traffic. What a fantastic little bike, especially with the low fuel and maintenance costs, free parking at any given lamp post, etc. I didn't expect the all of the nods and comments from 'real' bikers, but on most of the roads around here (where you can't accelerate like lightning), we're pretty much even. Definitely de-restrict it, and have them change the injector settings with the gameboy. My next step is to replace the stock roller weights to bring the peak torque down into traffic-speed ranges - right now acceleration is best between 40 and 55 mph, and hills are a bit of a slow affair without a running start. Changing the weights should bring the peak torque down into the 25-35 mph range, which should help a bit. Handling and braking are absolutely superb, and the thing's so light and nimble that it's easy to oversteer and end up cornering in a succession of straight lines. Low speed handling is excellent, and you can even track stand it at most traffic lights and stop signs. I rarely put my feet down. Wet weather handling is safe as houses, and even the occasional spot of ice is manageable. Got a bit sideways on a bridge in town in January, and steered my way out of difficulty without even getting my heart rate up much. NOT a highway bike, but fantastic in town, even in busy traffic.

This bike has sweet handling at parking lot speeds and high speeds (50+ derestricted). Solidly built, nice finish and sporty style. Direct injection has great economy and performance. Mileage is still near 90 mpg after derestricting and, there are aftermarket parts for more boost (variator, kevlar belt, exhaust, etc.).
