This really is a racebike with lights. What drives you crazy in traffic will make perfect sense at 70mph+. It was made to go fast and the rear view mirrors are useless to someone of my girth. Have plenty of points available on your drivers...

Been riding Aprilias for a while now and man did they change up the mile! The chassis is so much lighter and the bike barely looks like its predecesors. It's a beautiful bike that likes to be heard, and people will know you are coming. Torque is seemingly unlimited, and cornering is flawless thanks to its light weight. It's not as adjustable as the higher end Ducatis, but the brakes are definitely better. Overall, it's the best v-twin I can think of for the price.

The ride is a little stiff on rough surfaces but otherwise a great experience. I have ridden other comparable models but I wouldn't trade my bike for any of the others. A great thanks to the R&D team for their efforts. I just wish there were more performance upgrades to be made available.

I bought a '00 Mille from my local Triumph dealer. One test drive and I was hooked. I got a good deal on it and it turns out it was the first one off the line (serial #1). I have been more than pleased. Sure it runs hot, it's a racing bike, but nothing you can't stand. Plus the handling makes up...

I have been more than pleased. Sure it runs hot, it's a racing bike, but nothing you can't stand. Plus the handling makes up for any temporary discomfort you might have at a stoplight. Few bikes can compare in any aspect to this piece of art, plus Ducati's aren't near as comfortable. Unfortunately I fell in love with the only bike that can take me away from my mille, a new type R, and I am picking it up tomorrow. But if you want lots of bang for you buck, Aprilia is the way to go.

Been riding a 1999 BMW R1100S, but needed more lean angle (scraping pegs/brakelever/jugs, preload full-up). Bought a black 2003 RSV Mille R June 30, 2003. Brakes are downright amazing. One finger stoppies, yet good feel and control. Makes my S feel like mush. Picked bike up and had it...

Picked bike up and had it "derestricted" asap. That alone makes for some nice tonal quality, and no problems with the stock fuel injection map either. During first service (1000 miles), added the racing akropovic dual pipes and chip kit. In a word... AWEsome! I was worried at first that the pipes might be too loud, and regularly piss off my neighbors. Not to worry. No where near as loud or obnoxious as those squid Jap bikes. Nice mellow bass at idle, especially near semi-enclosed areas like between cars or in garages, and sweeeet Italian sportscar-type growl/scream above 6k. Yeah, refi'd the house to get it, but now that it's properly broken in and piped, I deem it worth it! Track dayz, here we come. Live your dreams... you need something to talk about in the nursing home when you're 80 and gumming your mash potatoes.

But now the bad part, dealer back up it has to be the worst out of the top manufacturers months on end to receive parts, and num nuts service personel. I really do hope this changes because if the cube derived bike is ever built I will be the first in line

Its very comfortable too. It seems to me that the 999 is Ducati's answer to the Mille's success. I've taken it to the track a few times and it simply loves that kind of riding too. Its no wonder that Aprilia is doing so well in their world wide sales.

If you want the V-twin feel of a superbike, this is it. I Only have 425 miles on this '03 RSV R Haga Replica, but it comes with all the s*#@! Ohlins front, rear & steering damper, new Brembo 4 pods (two fingers may be too much, they so smooth and powerful), Carbon add-ons, term/ti twin mufflers,...

Ohlins front, rear & steering damper, new Brembo 4 pods (two fingers may be too much, they so smooth and powerful), Carbon add-ons, term/ti twin mufflers, eprom performance chip, performance gearing, adj. levers, pirelli dragons, OZ wheels, plus 130hp rotax beast of a motor, 403lbs. There's 59 more out there just like mine in the USA. Ride a ducati, ride an RC51, do your homework. The ducati guys know, so does Honda, Aprilia gives much more and will make you a better rider in the real world. Nothing else comes close. Huge torque, great manners for a superbike. Its so thrilling to ride and its like being on a rope the curves. In the really challenging tight curves it comes out exploding with torque. Of course, after a 200 miles its time to get off and reflect. Yes, the aggressive position will tire you out. But, this is from a 20 yr. Harley guy. I'm 46, don't be your dad, don't follow, lead on Aprilia.

As a long term sport rider who has owned a 929, an R1, and TL1000R, the Mille simply rocks. My bike is a derestricted 0.5 model Mille R with the race kit shotgun pipe and chip. The bike is absolutely flawless from fit and finish to performance. For those who want to compare the Mille R to a...

The bike is absolutely flawless from fit and finish to performance. For those who want to compare the Mille R to a TL1000R, forget it the TL is a truck in comparison. I have recently added a 02 GSXR 1000 to my garage and am still happy to say the Mille remains a wonderful ride.
