I just got into riding, and I did a lot of research on which bike to start on, and the most popular choice was the Ninja 250R. I've put over 800 miles on mine so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I would recommend this bike to anyone who is looking to get into riding. Show less

I seriously recommend upgrading the stock rubber. I put on Michelin Road-2 110/70/17 front and 150/70/17 rear and the difference is major. The stock Dunlops were cheap anyway (to keep low msrp) so any better tires will help. I did no mods whatsoever and the increase in stopping performance alone is worth it. I get better grip especially accelerating and decelerating in turns and it is much more stable at highway speeds. Now, I look forward to long trips. Show less

My son bought this bike as his first. But I think I ride it more than he does. This is a great bike for the money. I enjoy riding it to work, and it is easy on gas. It's nice for the 25-mile trip. Show less

I've been trying for 30 years to build a bike that is a fabulous sports tourer, could run in the twisties, drone out the highway miles and be easy for the quick ride into town to run errands. The 2010 Concours 14 does it all. With the new eco mode, the Concours also gets in the mid 40's for fuel mileage whether you're riding around town or blasting the interstate. One of my other bikes is a TZ 250 which I club race, so I have a pretty good sense of what a great handling bike should feel like. I didn't opt for the traction control or ABS and don't miss it as the "standard" Concours 14 has superb linear brakes and a torque curve more like a big V-Twin than an inline 4. The hard bags gobble up all my gear and the revised fairing has addressed the issue on the 2008 and 2009 model of excessive heat coming off the engine. I've owned over 20 motorcycles over the course of the past 40 years of riding and still own nine. The Concours 14 has quickly become my all-time favorite. Show less

This is my third bike and I love it. It's a real multi-purpose bike. It's light on gas, smooth commuter and touch of power when needed. It feels real good when you stop less at gas stations, light on pocket (save some bucks) and smaller carbon footprint. I use it as my commuter to office and back. Simply awesome. Show less

The quality built into this bike is obvious just looking at it and after riding it you are even more impressed. I have ridden every bike in the sport touring category and this one is by far the best; comfort, handling, brakes, power, luggage, and style make this an outstanding value. Did I mention power? This thing pulls like a freight train and the power just keeps building. The power is deceptively smooth and before you know it you will be far into triple digits... so be careful. Heated grips, traction control, ABS brakes, fuel economy mode, and a electronic adjustable windscreen all add to this bikes competence. I grew up riding dirt bikes and have always wanted a streetbike. This bike is perfect even for someone whose had the offroad experience, but not the street experience. It has enough power to get me around town and to let it out on the highway, plus it looks just like the big bikes but has better gas mpg!! I love this bike and plan on keeping it a long time!! My new 2010 bike is everthing I've been wanting. It's a great bike. It has awesome stability and is a smooth ride with all the power you need. With all that, the bike is sharp looking in many colors and options. It's a comfort ride. Ride safe. Show less

Back in 2008 I bought a Honda Shadow Aero 750 as my first bike. I outgrew it and moved up to the 1700 Nomad. All I can say is WOW! I have had it almost a month now and have ridden almost a 1000 miles. What a difference in performance and comfort. My wife loves the ride and comfort of the passenger seat, backrest and floorboards. I love the slow speed handling, as good or better than my 750! Does the curves as well as the 750 but feels more solid. Rode 280 miles one evening and felt great. Solid, easy to ride, comfort.
