I agree with Ray from Tennessee. I just don't believe the bad reviews. (Oh, and Ray, here is my pic although a few months old). For the people who have issues: How come you haven't called Harley National Customer Service! My dealer bends over backwards with the slightest issue I have with the bike. Aside from my wife with her own sportster, both my sons now have Harleys and we ride together. They are all terrific. What little issues I have had are taken care of timely and efficiently. I now have over 3400 miles (since October) and love this bike more and more. Yes, even with the mid frame deflectors, the engine is hot, but now quite bearable (and we rode in 90 degree heat two weeks ago). The comfort of this bike enables me to ride for hours without any pain (which my metric gave me). My bike not only looks like a Harley (people used to say about my Kawasaki), it IS a Harley.

Bought my 08' Ultra Memorial Day weekend last year. Love the bike!! Being a creature of comfort, this bike exceeds any other I've owned. The wife finds the comfort exceptional as well. Ran it stock last year, but installed some aftermarket stuff this spring. Got a couple hundred miles on so far this season. The sound was ok stock, but upgrading the pipes made it sound the way a Harley should sound!! Very pleased---If you're travelling a long way, there really is nothing better IMO!!

Just came off another great ride on this great bike. I don't understand the problems that some are having with the 08 Ultra. Either they don't like to ride or they don't really own this bike(I won't believe a review without pics). This is a great...

haven't done much riding yet this spring, still too cold and rainy in St Louis. However, I did add a few things like the quick detach hardware for the tour pak, and purchased a rider backrest. This gives the bike a sporty look, similar to the street glide, and also lowers the center of gravity just a bit. I also changed my exhaust. I installed Vance and Hines True Duals with their Monster Ovals. The sound is great. It has a very low rumble which is what I wanted, and is a bit louder for other car drivers to hear, but not excessive. I installed a high flow air filter which requires a recalibration of the fuel/air mixture. Of course HD charges $300 for the tuner plus labor. There hardly any increase in performance with the pipes and air filter, but the bike had plenty of power anyway. Check out the picture.

This is my 3rd Harley-Davidson, and my favorite so far. I had a Softail Standard and a Street Glide before this bike. The Street Glide just wasn't my style bike, but when I traded it in, the Softail Standard had been dropped from the line, and I liked the appearance of the Fat Bob.

After riding the Fat Bob for nearly 6000 miles, I've come to like a lot more than just the appearance of the bike. The handling is terrific, it rides well on long trips, and after the engine was broken in, the gas mileage is great! But, of course, if you buy a Harley for gas mileage, you're just missing the whole point. For me it's just an added bonus.
The only slight downside of this bike for me is the handlebars. They don't put me in the best position for long rides (300-400 miles per day) that we occasionally go on (1-2 times per year), but they're fine on the shorter (100-200+ miles) weekend rides. Maybe I'll change the 'bars sometime.
Most of the low RPM vibrations seemed to go away around the 2500 mile mark for me. Once the bike got to that point, I can drop it into 6th gear at any speed from 50 mph on up.
Overall this bike is a very satisfying and fun ride.

I've had this bike for close to a year now and love it. It is my 1st bike. It could use a little more power but it works for most situations. The stock pipes sound better as the miles are put on, but I will still be putting on V&H Short Shots. It is a great looking bike with white/gold paint and just the right amount of rake in front. I looked at other bikes as well and it was like comparing a BMW to a Chevy Cobalt. I can see why there is such dedication to Harleys and I am proud to say that it is my bike of choice.

It has plenty of power to get me where I am going. I will be taking it from Texas to Canada soon.

I owned a Yamaha V-Star 1100 before getting my Street Glide. Good bike, but not really made for 2-up riding on long trips. This is the only bagger that I felt comfortable with at a stop or in parking lots. I LOVE THIS BIKE! Plenty of torque and response. Cornering is actually better than my V-Star was. Excellent CG and balance. The detachable docking points really let you customize the look for whatever the type of riding you're doing on any given day. Only complaint is the seat width at the front for short legged riders (30 inch inseam). I'm having this shaved this winter. One last thing: This bike is solidly built as evidenced by the deer I hit head-on at the end of November during one of the last rides of the season. I was able to drive it home! Can't wait to get it out of the shop!

The ride is awesome. The looks I get from others who see a woman driving this beautiful bike is awesome. I can't wait for summer! All I can say is awesome job Harley Davidson.
