Reasonably comfortable for a sportbike, Plenty of power, very reliable, handles very well (once you actualy adjust the suspension) and great fuel economy (but who buys them for that). Ridden mine for over 23,000 miles now with the only problem being the clutch lever switch (which is easy to replace/fix).

Fantastic machine, runs like a tank, but smooth as silk. Gobs of torque and lots of power (see upgrades). Wife and I rode two up to our rally in South Dakota (5500 kms)trouble free, wonderful cruiser. Best bike I've owned in 30 years and at a great price. Did have to upgrade the seat though, bought...

Did have to upgrade the seat though, bought a mustang set with backrest and that cured the sore butt problem.

It rides smooth and it is an eye catcher. I ride with Harley owners and we stop to get gas and I literally watch them fill up when I still have plenty. I will never buy another kind. Vulcan 2000 is the top line of bikes.

Sold an 07 2000 Classic Lt, white with the titanium trim, and bought this black and silver Nomad, as I've had two earlier ones, a 99 and 02, and felt that I wanted another one although I really liked the LT. Have had the Nomad now for about 2,000 miles and have really enjoyed it. Put on V&Hs, got the mustang seat and backrest ordered, although the stock seat isn't bad. It's been a slow go getting my wife to accept that I sold the LT as she really liked it and feels that it was more comfortable (and better looking) than the Nomad, thus the mustang seat, hoping it will make her like it more. Have added the studded tank bra, saddlebag chaps and windshield bag, so with the studded mustang seat and matching passenger backrest, it's coming along and is looking pretty good. I regret selling the LT sometimes as it was a great looking bike, very comfortable even with the stock seats especially the passenger seat according to my wife. don't let anyone fool you, the 1600 Nomads will not run with the 2000's, I know from experience, but I really like my Nomad and am glad that I made the trade. The Nomads are just really nice riding bikes, run very well and mine isn't too bad on fuel, usually getting high 30's and low 40's and they are easy to maintain and reliable. The hard bags are hard to beat and a great benefit on these bikes. If you go with the Nomad, you won't regret it.

This bike is everything I thought it would be after months and months of research back in 07. If there is anything I could say negative, it would be the heat that comes off the engine when sitting at stop light or in traffic in HOT weather.

When I sat on the 600R, I fell in love with her instantly - and I hadn't even test drove her yet! When I did though, I was hooked. She's fast on the straight-aways but she loves the corners most. She has very easy handling and she's not heavy and that makes her fun on the track also - complete with a lap counter! Being short, comfort is important to me. I had her lowered as far as she could go. The only draw back of that is if I have an over 130lb passenger, she tends to scrape a bit over bumps - but with no passenger I have yet to have her scrape. Overall, comfort is pretty good. I can ride her twice as long as other bikes I've ridden. The only problem I had was the vibration in the handlebars which caused some soreness in my wrists, but was cut down by 50% with some new handgrips. For beginners, there is a delayed throttle so there's no fear of twisting the gas and having the bike take off on you - however, it does make it a bit harder to pull off a wheelie. In summary...best bike I've ever had and I don't plan on getting rid of her!

Last year after researching for weeks (months?) I determined this was the bike for me. A few weeks later, my wife buys a zero mile '07 model for my birthday. Needless to say, she's a keeper (the wife!) My checklist was : cruiser style, aircooled, belt drive, tubeless tires (no spoked wheels), leg room, fuel-injected, and less than a 1200cc engine. Perfection...or, almost. The seat just can't be used for more than 45 min or 1 hour...the gearbox makes some extra noise when shifting gears (so what) and they didn't put enough chrome on it stock for my taste. However, I could not ask for a better fit to my criteria. Well done, Kawasaki.
