2006 Triumph reviews

The Bonnie black is just what I was looking for. Love the retro looks and it's black (the only true color for a motorcycle). The Bonneville is not for everyone. If you want a sport bike buy a Busa, if you want a cruiser, get a VTX, if you want a motorcycle with soul then go for the Bonnie, classic looks with modern, reliable mechanics. I like the upright standard riding position, seat height is perfect for me and I really enjoy the look on someones face after they ask what year it is. The biggest problem is now I have to change it. The Bonneville platform screams at you to add personal touches. There is a fantastic network of New Boneville owners that are constantly making their Bonnie theirs. Seems to be addictive. Had mine for less than a month and have had two UPS deliveries so far. Show less

11,000 miles and all I did was change oil. I have ridden up to 600 miles in a day without being exhausted. I could have gone further but I was traveling with a couple of other riders who were beat. This bike is pure fun and there is nothing like the acceleration. Got cought in a rain storm and was forced to ride for almost 150 miles. The bike was very solid and I had total confidence in it. It is still stock with only leather lyke bags added. Great performance with out any work at all. Show less

I've been driving a Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 for the last 2 years and love it. The Rocket 3 on the other hand is faster, more agile, feels much lighter and is almost as fun as a Hayabusa with the lower (Cruiser) insurance rates. I still have the Kawasaki but it's not gettin' much riding time due to the Triumph. Absolutely a must have. Great fit and finish. Show less

This bike is fun, fast, and very smooth. It feels a lot like the old Honda CB 750 I once rode 30 years ago. I got it, the Scrambler, because of the looks but it feels tight and very well made. It also goes like hell, even though I have not opened it up yet as the engine is very new. This new Triumph Company is not like the old company and the poor bikes they once produced. The mufflers could make a bit more sound so I might find some aftermarket ones. Get one of thes Scramblers and you will have a ball!!! Show less

I bought my Cardinal Red Rocket in July and 7 months later I'm still absolutely loving it. The pull in second gear is the best feeling you can have outside the bedroom. As a tall guy, I can look silly on other bikes, but not on the Rocket. It's a beast. Lots of admiring looks when I'm tooling around town, which of course is what we all crave. It won't disappoint. Had the cash and I WANTED a liter bike. Read every review I could find and settled on getting a Ninja. Since I never buy something I haven't rode I went to the shop and tested both the big Ninjas...the 10 & the 14 and loved them both. However, the sales person knew I spent most of my time flinging myself around mountain twisties and suggested I test the 675. 3,000 miles later and even more happy now than when I first got it. The tighter the road, the more it shows it mettle. I have no doubt I can ride this faster in the real world curves than I would have on a liter bike... it's brilliant!! Show less

Excellent cruiser! Bought it last May and have 29K miles on it. Rode it to the coast in August (half of the trip winding mountain two-lane highway) and stayed in top gear the whole way there. I get about 42-45 mpg around town and 50-52 on the highway. It frequently gets compliments from people when I park it. Most ask about the restoration (LOL) and how long it took. This bike is so smooth running and real pleasure to ride, too. I love this bike!!! Show less

I feel like James Dean on my new Bonnie. I also own a '73 Bonneville. I have to say that Triumph really did a beautiful job recreating an icon. To me, the look of a classic British bike can not be beat. I did have to make a few adjustments, and change a few components to make the new girl fit my requirements. I do wish Triumph would add an overdrive to the transmission though. All and all, I love my Bonnie! Show less

The Bonnie is a fun bike with lots of character but there are a few things to consider before buying one: minor- I had an oil leak from the cylinder wall with 2K miles on the bike. Fixed under warranty and did not reappear. One night it stalled 3 times....I restarted it with the petcock in reserve (tank was full) and it didn't stall and never had the problem again....starting it normally with petcock in normal position. Major (to me)- make sure your back can handle the HARSH riding rear shocks. I tried aftermarket shocks and they made little to zero difference. Every bump in the road sends jolts up your spine and bucks the bike. If that doesn't bother you.....you'll love the Bonnie. For me, my lower back was so sore after taking such a beating on it....I couldn't sleep. So I sold the bike. I wish the bike didn't ride so harsh....my sportbike and Nomad feel like Cadillacs compared to the Bonnie's ride. But like I said, if you can get past the harsh ride of the bike.....I couldn't.......you will enjoy the Bonneville. Show less

Given the fact that I'm only 19, and only owned one bike before the Daytona (Katana 600, ew I know), I'm still blown out of the water. Just by looking the the numbers and specs, it's obvious that the Daytona could most likely blow away any other middle weight bike. The steering is unbelievably crisp and responsive and the throttle response is flawless. I get chills down my spine every time I accelerate on this bike; just the exhaust note and the feel of the torque, even at 3-4k rpm, makes you feel like you're on the greatest middleweight on the planet. All-in-all...if you're looking for a middleweight sports bike, have a little self control, and want to go really really fast, this is by far the best choice. Best thing about it is that it MSRPs no more than any other middleweight out there. I will never regret buying this bike! Show less
