This is by far the best woods bike I have ridden. Other than moving the needle and the handlebars I have seen no reason to change anything. I ride in the rocks and roots of southern Mo. This bike does everything so well that I feel like I am cheating when I ride with my friends. Thanks KTM for what I think is the perfect woods bike. In the last 6 years I have had 4 250s 1 200, 1 380, 1 300, and 1 520, none of these bikes come close to what this bike can do.

This bike is the perfect all around, off road motorcycle. The power is never ending; the suspension is perfect for off road use (but too soft for serious MX use). The quality is top notch, and the bike is easy to work on. It looks like it will go through a lot of rear tires. I put the KTM OEM street legal kit on it, and now I ride it around town as well. The kit is excellent quality. I took it out on the highway and I got it up to 96 MPH which is too fast for any off road riding I do. I would gear it down, but then it would almost have too much torque. The bike is perfect in every way for me, and my only hope is it will have long term reliability to go with the performance. I would certainly buy another one; the extra cost over the jap bikes means nothing after riding this bike once.

Riding this bike in twisty technical stuff is like stealing sweets from kids. I have moved from a KTM 250 exc (2002) and a 2004 CR 250R, and riding this bike is like cheating, seriously, I feel guilty each time I take it out. If you don't believe me, ride... read more

THIS IS A GREAT BIKE. ON TRAILS I HAVE NEVER SEEN ITS EQUAL AND ON THE TRACK IT HOLDS ITS OWN AGAINST THE MOTOCROSS BIKES. HAVING BOTH, I WOULD BUY THIS BIKE OVER THE CRF 450X ANY DAY. HOPING NEXT YEAR TO ALSO TRANSFER TO THE KTM450 OVER MY CRF450R FOR THE TRACK. GREAT BIKE. 4 STARS BECAUSE NOTHING... read more

I have soooooooooooo many track and trail hours on this bike and all I have replaced is a few sparkplugs and the top end at the usuall times for a 2-stroke. It is BY FAR the most powerful, torqe packed, user friendly, reliable, highest quality bike on the market. I've ridden at motoland the largest motocross track in all of Indiana as far as I know and it has enough power to motor up the biggest, steepest, 60ft tall double double motoland has to offer and cleared it with ease. There is a straight-away about an eighth of a mile long of nothing but DEEP, moist, tire swallowing sand I've ever seen on a track and I motor past every other 125 and 250 four strokes on the track. Did i mention it is stock exept for the handgaurds? If you want a true winner, you want the KTM!

I just picked up my KTM 525 exc today..Rode it about 30 miles..Even though I'm breakin it in, this bike has a lot of power. It's quite snappy. Great low end. Climbs large hills with ease. I just need more time on it, so I can fine tune it for me...
